Panthers trade Bolland and Crouse to the Coyotes for a 2017 3rd and cond 2018 2nd

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNICARIZ/FLA working on a deal that will send David Bolland and Lawson Crouse to the Coyotes for a second and third pick...

Wow Panthers use a 1st round pick prospect to dump an anchor contract

 Chris Johnston @reporterchris
Official trade details: The #coyotes get Crouse/Bolland from #FlaPanthers for 2017 third (better of Ariz/DET pick) and 2018 second.

 Craig Custance @CraigCustance
If Crouse doesn't play in Arizona this season, the 2nd round pick becomes a 3rd round pick.

Wow. Didn't think anyone would take Bolland off their hands. That contract ain't pretty. Arizona spending big money this offseason.

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNICARIZ, for taking Bolland contract, gets Crouse, a good prospect. Believe the higher pick will be whichever is better of ARIZ/DET 2nd in 2017

 Chris Johnston @reporterchris
There was no salary retained on David Bolland's contract so the #coyotes will be on the hook for $5.5M each of the next three years.

Gotta respect what Arizona has done the past few months. That Chyka wasn't afraid to make waves. I like it. Their prospect depth is getting really impressive.

The Coyotes now have Max Domi, Anthony Duclair, Dylan Strome, Clayton Keller, Christian Fischer, Christian Dvorak, Brendan Perlini and Lawson Crouse up front. What a forward group to build around.
Chayka seems to be a good hire by Arizona. The kid has balls, that's for sure.

wow even better for the Coyotes
 Chris Johnston @reporterchris

 Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Let me fix: FLA gets better of 2017 third between ARIZ/DET picks and 2018 second.

I feel like the coyotes are playing NHL 15 GM Mode and there just going full rebuild mode.

Never understood the Crouse hype. Between the WJs and what I've seen of him in the OHL, he seems to have neither the speed nor the skill to be a force in the NHL.

The Coyotes will be on the verge of contending in about 3 years with all of this youth and Bolland will be coming of the books. Very good deal for Arizona.

Harvey Fialkov @hfialkovThe Panthers have been working dumping Bolland's contract for several months according to source. #flapanthers

Makes the Vermette buyout make more sense. Chayka perhaps sensed this deal would go down and used his only opportunity to get rid of Vermette.

Well if you are expecting top line talent yeah he's overhyped but he could be a decent 2nd/3rd line tweener.

Good lord is that Bolland contract every horrible. IMO giving up a guy like Crouse is well worth it to be rid of that deal if you are trying to build a competitive team.

Love the deal for the Yotes. These were the types of trades that Treliving was trying to make a couple years ago that in hindsight could have really screwed the Flames cap situation. Arizona is in fairly good shape as Datsyuk expires after this year. They will have to pay Domi and Duclair before Bolland is done but not Strome, Dvorak, Keller etc

Craig Custance @CraigCustanceAlso, if the Coyotes trade Crouse this year the 2nd round pick locks in as a second. Complicated deal. Wouldn't rule this out either.

The coyotes are thin on d prospects, so maybe they flip some of their forward prospects for a young d-man.
