At this point in time, I think Poland and Germany are mostly on the same side. German unification is a dead concept for the most part.

Also, Poland from my understanding is fairly well equipped and trained these days. They couldn't be walked over.

If its down to survival of the fittest, there are a lot of folks that just arent going to make it more than a few days. It might be because I will go after their stuff first, they wouldnt make it anyways, and theres no sense in wasting those resources.

Interesting historical footnote:

Back in 1995 when Germany last did this, it was at the height of the war in Croatia and Bosnia. They (along with Hungary) were already smuggling weapons into Croatia and Germany and Hungary started making rumblings about joining to assist the Croatian side. They told their population to stock up.

The Americans figured that the danger was too great if Germany militarized because Russia was already itching to assist the Serbian side. As a result, the Americans went in and supplied the tactical intelligence and assistance needed for Croatia to win the Homeland War swiftly (and unfortunately not without controversy and poor conduct among badly trained civilian militias), and pushed their way into Bihac, at which point they had enough pressure on Milosevic to sign the Dayton Accord and end the war.

A lot of the documents pertaining to this were declassified last year. It was crazy to think how close Europe came to brink at that time, and again over Balkan bull####. The majority of the population had no clue at the time.

This time, it's difficult to see what the reasoning is. Perhaps it's just an exercise to see how people will react.

Yeah, you gotta think civil unrest and rioting in the streets is a more likely threat to German public order right now than a war with Russia.

There was deplorable behavior by all three belligerents in that conflict, both Militia and Regular Force.

They should all be ashamed of themselves.
