The Australian Olympic committee has banned two swimmers from the closing ceremonies.

"Josh Palmer “continued drinking” with a friend, according to a statement released by the AOC. When his friend left, Palmer was forced to withdraw $1,000 out of an ATM by man. Palmer was described as “disoriented” when he was found by two Copa businessmen."

But that's how much that race pushes your body.
Kind of sounds like the guy accidentally drank some of the sewage water at one of the other Olympic venues. Yikes.

"Lochte, who dyed his hair white for the Games and had it turn a light shade of green from the pool, had changed his hair back to its regular colour for the interview. As Brazilian police investigated his robbery claim, and eventually held his teammates for questioning while they sorted out his story, he had tweeted he intended to dye it back."

Well this is bizarre. Takes a few minutes for it to play out, but wow. Does it ever escalate.

This is not a Lochte fiasco but, it does show Brazil in a negative light. There were nine Australian athletes who had to pay 10,000 reals ($4,300) due to incorrect accreditation.

From the Australian Olympic Committee chef de mission Kitty Chiller. I was disappointed the athletes had to go through what they went through last night. The athletes are not at fault. We are providing support and counselling to them and to their parents.’’

Not a disaster, but I dont know where this fits.

It's the Olympics...all the Track & Field nametags were paper attached with paper clips. I'm not sure what I was expecting they use, but it wasn't what I get for a 5k fun run.

so did the ioc grand pubah mention how it was the greatest Olympics ever in his closing speech?

also I don't recall any news about them catching an athlete who tested positive for something - I think this means the good guys are winning the battle - right??!!??

oh yeah, and after all those panoramic shots of rio, we are all thinking about booking a vacation there.....right????

A weightlifter lost his bronze medal because he took strychnine.

Lochte loses his first sponsor, Speedo.

Quote:
“While we have enjoyed a winning relationship with Ryan for over a decade and he has been an important member of the Speedo team, we cannot condone behavior that is counter to the values this brand has long stood for,” the company shared on Twitter. “We appreciate his many achievements and hope he moves forward and learns from this experience.” Speedo also noted that it was donating a $50,000 portion of Lochte’s fee to a charity designed to help children in Brazil.

Often trying to get to 3rd will result in a DNF on the clean and jerk. So it's a bit unfair.

Hahahah - Lochte - in an interview used the word "tantics" instead of "antics"

Sports Pickle tweeted - "tantics, antics by a brah with a sweet tan"

You can't write this stuff!

Ryan Lochte must be the long-lost brother of Ricky from Trailer Park Boys.
