If that's the final concert it was a great way to go out. Shame that uncomfortable bit with junior had to be a part of it but if Gord wanted that I'm okay with it.

I believe he's referring to Gord giving two speeches about native rights and how bad things are and how Trudeau needs to and will fix it.
I'm not familiar with the Hip's or Gord's politics but he obviously seemed to be a Trudeau supporter and very concerned with the plight of natives.

Politics ruined the evening for Erick.
I mean, he is the prime minister, but not the one he wants so...

Oh, so it was a silly shot from the right wing in a thread dedicated to one of the biggest nights in Canadian music history. Excellent. (I threw a hockey reference for the Hip, ha).

Listen to his lyrics, and you'll know his politics.

I'll have much more to say later once I think about it, but Gord's pro Trudeau segment got me on board. Because Justin picked an A++ shirt. Boo Conservatives. Yea Liberals. Weird right.

Gord's been speaking about first nations issues for a long time, not just in his music but even in interviews in recent years. I think he was actually trying to put more pressure on Trudeau to do something about it than actively endorsing him.
My already sky high respect for Gord went even higher considering what was supposed to be all about him and his band he used to catapult an important social issue in this country into the limelight. Pretty much case in point why this is the most important band in Canadian history.

Is it a personal requirement for you to be the worst part of everything on CP? Is it like, a goal you set for yourself?

Did they perform Another Midnight?
I have it recorded but won't be able to watch until tomorrow. I've always been surprised that's not one of their biggest songs, I love it

A lot of people will be asking each other "what's so bad up north?" tonight.
And with that, Downie will have achieved his aim.
