i don't think you can get a split for De Grasse because he really ran only 80 or 90 metres. The exchange box is 20 metres.
The first guy runs like 110m.

That was a good clarification by Mark Lee because I wasn't certain of the rules regarding stepping on the lane line. Stepping on the lane line is only a DQ if you step on the inside line of a turn or if you step on/over the line and impede another runners progress.

Actually that replay that cbc showed was misleading along with Smiths commentary.
They shot was of the beginning of the exchange area, not the end.
Smiths comment was wrong, Gatlin handed off too early is the Dq, not too late.

They began the passing of the baton before they entered the 20 m baton transfer box (unofficial term). Thats how I understand it.
