I found a planet full of an exotic mineral called Murrine today. Not sure if that's good in the grand scheme of things but I harvested a ton of it.

I'm going to look forward to picking up this game in a half a year to a year. Hopefully by then things will become even more fleshed out and varied.

The story, or lack there of, is what kills this game.

Its like... why am I really doing this? Its annoying how quickly boring it got.

I was talking to a buddy on the phone and he was playing it at the time, I asked him what he thought.

He basically started out by saying "In space nobody can hear you scream"

Then he screamed "I'm so f%%%%%% bored".

Then he quit and we went for a beer and watched football.

I've loved every second, haven't been bored yet.

Lots of potential too. I'm happy with the purchase.

That's what everyone says for the first few hours until they realize how repetitive and pointless it gets.

Yeah, I guess I don't *really* know what I'm saying after putting 20+ hours in.

Once you hit 100, then you get it, right?

What exactly are you having fun with at 20 hours in?

It was a cool planet - super cold (-70) very taxing on the life support system so I installed this cold protection into my exosuit which really helped.

I've been farming the #### out of that Murrine as it's very expensive on the intergalactic market.

Found a new ship too - working on repairing it now.

Lately it's been finding planets with dangerous resources and running from / fighting sentinels.

- space battles
- fending off pirates
- searching for the atlas
- discovering the rare really interesting planets / species out there

I don't really blame someone if they aren't finding the fun in it. It's not handed to you. This isn't a game for those without imagination.

Plus, fun is subjective!

Giving it a try, it's relaxing, though I can see it getting old really quickly. I mean in Minecraft I could mine, but I could also build, but this I can't build or craft much other than upgrades (which I'm not sure if they stack or not).

Also strange that my exosuit can hold more than my ship! Upgrading the suit is super easy.

I did find a ship in a space port that had 39 slots (40 is the max?), 29 million to upgrade! I did one upgrade through finding a crashed ship, so I guess one could just do it that way rather than pay lots of money.

You can summon your ship to any outpost.

Yep -- by the time I got to an outpost though, my ship was listed as 'off planet' and wouldn't return. I had to re-load the save to get it back.

Would've actually been kind of fun to be totally stranded. It wasn't a bad planet, lots of resources and no adverse conditions.
