Rangers sign former Flames draft pick John Gilmour to two year NHL deal
Flames elected not to sign 2013 7th round draft pick. He became an UFA yesterday.

Word is free agent defenseman John Gilmour (@johngilmour93) of Providence College has agreed to 2-year NHL deal with New York Rangers.
Not sure what Jeff Gorton is thinking on this one. A 2-year, 1-way deal? Wut?

Signings like this make it very obvious how deep the Flames prospect pool is. Not sure the Flames have ever been in a position to not qualify players who played well enough to be qualified. Kudos to the scouts.
