I went to the 2014 US Open and it was just phenomenal on center court. Was there for the marathon Raonic/Nishikori match.

Looking at the new roof, I have a potentially stupid question, it appears fully enclosed. Is that roof still retractable?

and under weird tennis news of the week, Wimbledon now has rat pee poisonings:

http://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/37041863

Quote:
Police are investigating claims that a teenage British tennis player was poisoned at Wimbledon last month.

Gabriella Taylor, 18, spent four days in intensive care after becoming unwell during her girls' quarter-final match.

Scotland Yard says it has received an allegation of poisoning with intent to endanger life or cause grievous bodily harm.

Taylor's mother, Milena Taylor, told BBC Sport her daughter was "still not 100%".

She said that doctors diagnosed a rare strain of leptospirosis - also known as Weil's disease - a bacteria which can be transmitted through rat urine.

Rat piss eh? I know tennis parents can be a little over the top, but surely one of them wouldn't go to that length would thet?

Also I'm a little surprised by this, but Kerber can actually become #1 if she wins Cincy and Serena loses before the QFs. I thought Serena's lead was massive like Novak's lead. Guess not.

According to this article/video, yes it is.

Cincinnati Open update:
- Genie has qualified for the main draw.

Speaking of Gatineau, Bianca Andreescu just won her first ever title there. She beat Halbauer in straight sets. Bianca and her partner, Charlotte Robillard, also won the doubles title. Good weekend in Gatineau!

She hasn't technically lost yet, but down 6-4, 5-0 with play suspended, I'm gonna assume Genie will lose her match in Cincy. Now she's got points to defend at the US Open, so her ranking could tumble into new lows if she can't put a run together there. Vasek also lost his match in straights 7-5, 7-5.

Anybody see Kyrgios lose it in his match against Coric yesterday in Cincinnati? He had a good point, the umpire probably shouldn't have allowed Coric to change rackets in the middle of a game (no broken string or damage to the racket), but he just couldn't let it go.

Roger dropped out of the season. It's gonna be odd coming back to 16 seed Roger Federer getting Andy Murray in the 4th round of the Aussie and not the SF.

Milos is moving on in Cincinnati after he beat Yuichi Sugita in three sets. Up next is quarterfinal action against Dominic Thiem.
