Flames Flames bringing in Jamie Devane on PTO

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle 8m8 minutes ago
Flames are bringing in Jamie Devane on a PTO. There's a Brian Burke connection there given he was a Leafs pick.

stats:
http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p...php?pid=115650

looks like more of a Stockton move than a NHL move

Clearly Gaudreaus not signing and we needed to replace him.

Big. Left-shot. Physical. Not much offensive punch to speak of. Likely AHL depth guy.

194 pro hockey games. 27 points, 380 penalty minutes. So yeah, Burke player indeed.

He's basically an older Hunter Smith. Maybe they're bringing Devane in to be sort of a mentor for Smith, to show him how much better he'll need to be to make the NHL.

At least something is happening. I think this is the slowest Flames news August I can remember.

Those are terrible AHL numbers. I would rather keep an Agostino or something over this guy.

I guess they need a face puncher in Stockton??

Always good to have a face puncher in the lineup. This guy tko'd Daniel Maggio, the guy who knocked out McGrattan. Colton Orr replacement for the farm most likely.

Lundmark the person I'm sure is awesome. Lundmark the tweener injury call-up was adequate. Lundmark the #1 centre for Iginla playing Brent Sutter hockey was an eldritch horror.

Just a heavyweight for stockton. I'm guessing colton orr has moved on so they wanted a replacement.

Looking up the fighting major leaders for Stockton last season:

Carroll 10
Smith 7
Heard 7 - signed with Charlotte Checkers
Stevenson 7 - signed a NHL deal with the Stars
Riley 6 - signed with a team in England
Lomberg 4 - believed to be unsigned by any team
Elson 3 - signed by the Avs
Hathaway 3
Van Brabant 3 - believed to be unsigned by any team
Grant 2 - signed with the Sabres
Sieloff 2 - traded to Senators
Orr 1 - retired
Poirier 1
Verpaelst 1 - ECHL injury callup

Bringing in:
Kanzig 7 in the WHL
Angelidis 7 fighting majors last season, 10 in 14/15
Devane (if signed) 10 fighting majors last season
