Default Sports Illustrated ranks top 30 Centers for each team

These are the top 30 centre's in the NHL, according to Sports Illustrated, I don't agree with their assessment of Sean Monahan(I think he will be a elite #1 centre and he will be close to point per game), one thing I wondering is, how long before Sam Bennett join the list and where will he rank? What do you all think about the list?

if you're sitting next to Giroux I think you're in good company.

and it has Schiefele is better than Giroux? I like Schiefele, but this order is a bit strange if you have him currently ahead of Gman.

This actually isn't the top 30 centres in the league, it's a ranking of each team's top centre. I'm seeing guys like Kadri and Dubinsky on this list, and I'm like "damn where's backlund".

ROR should be way, way higher, and I hadn't realized Giroux was starting to fall apart, but it could just be SI being misinformed. Overall not a terrible list.

Considering it's a list ranking the top center for each team, let's see if Bennett can exceed Monahan first. Whether he does or not, the team looks to have a great 1-2 punch down the middle for years and years.

If you're calling your list "Top 30 centres" and you don't have Malkin on your list then your list is officially a joke.

Also missing Kesler and Krejci. So yeah, pretty crap list. Very misnamed.

Misleading headline, but explained in the list: "We’ve taken a look around the league at each team’s top center and ranked them 1–30, based on the success we predict for them in 2016–17."

Sorry, my bad, I will change the title. And I don't know how to do that.

Yes thank god for Monahan, how many points do you think he will hit this year?

I think Monahan gets: 70 points

And Bennett gets: 55 points

Interesting side question for this list.

Where would you place the cutoff between 1C and 2C?. Personally I would place it at Henrik Sedin. I feel that all the guys below him on the list (ROR excepted) are much better suited to a 2nd line role than a first line role, especially if their team has intentions of making the playoffs. Maybe Monahan is better than I give him credit for. From Getzlaf to Crosby, I think everyone can agree that those players are all #1C's (McFlapjacks excluded), but the line gets blurry after that.

Eh, so contrived. And seems to lack any projection. Eichel will probably take the #1 role in Buffalo, the powerplay already flows through him. Matthews likely to take the #1 role in TOR pretty quickly. Dvorak may be the #1 centre in ARI pretty quick, I'd have him as ahead of Strome in development.

I guess we can debate the order too, not sure I'd take Stepan over some of the guys they took him over.

I dunno, I guess these lists generate discussion but they are just so random and contrived.

82 points. This will be his peak points producing season.

Not your fault, they misnamed their own article. You just used their wording.

Now it says the list is the top 30 Centers for each team. I don't think Calgary has that many Centers.

Maybe change it to "SI ranks the top Center for each team".

Pretty fair and agreeable as far as subjective lists go. I fully support their take on Monahan.

So you support them saying that Monahan will never be a elite number 1, you know what that means, we may not get a elite number 1 centre, I think Monahan becomes a elite number 1.

Maybe it's the Homer in me but I'll be a little surprised if McDavid plays the whole season and doesn't have a topen 3 performance for the center position.
