French channel just showed Lavillenie throwing a tantrum in his press conference.

"In 1936 the crowd was against Jesse Owens. We've not see this since. We have to deal with it."

and then added

"the bar fell from nothing at 6.03"

Can't make this up

Crazy..
It's a home crowd with a personal best by a lot. What do you want them to do?
Take a page from the American vaulter and man up.
Was a great finish to a disappointing evening.

Ha, just as predicted from the French, and you could tell from the cameras catching everything on the track, the bitching started then, as he was looking for any excuse (while his coach and fans nearby were just listening, keeping their mouth shut)...and clearly lost with no class. The "phantom bar" is pretty rich.

And comparing 2016 Brazil to Nazi Germany is a wee stretch.

That French pole vaulter needs a spoonful of cement. Definitely a loser.

Mark Cavendish taking out the competition. It was ruled unintentional and he got silver. Look at the look backwards before he dropped down and hit the rider.

The Korean was taken to the hospital.
