But the fact is, Calgary will very likely be making a strong pitch and we definitely have the space on the roster and the young skilled guys for him to play with which is what he was looking for.

So even if you move the goalposts to "Calgary's not a place he'd want to play" I'd be willing to bet there at least a significant, yet still admittedly not strong chance of him signing here.
I'm not moving goalposts in one of the worst arguments going on cp and one of the worst I've ever made the mistake of engaging in.

I guess it's not zero chance, you win, congratulations?

I wouldn't say I'm a dig heels in kinda guy, I even moved from 0% to 0.05% in my last post. I was in a discussion with you in another thread and agreed I had to go think about my position and change it, because you were most likely right. I've made a few apologies to some folks that deserved it over the last few weeks. Not all is bad in coffeeland, just the likelihood that Vesey will sign here is all.

Just an opinion. CP could use a little more varying opinions anyway.

I'd bet 10 grand on Vesey not signing in Calgary.

Has a high profile American college free agent ever signed in a Canadian city?

Yeah he will probably sign with the Hawks and then win the Calder.

Well of course - that's an easy bet to take. You are taking the field, so assuming each team has equal odds (which they don't) that bet is a no brainer.
Though I agree, there have been no reports of the Flames being of interest, or in on this. So the chances are extremely remote.

If you want full disclosure - I didn't know if you were a poster who moves the goalposts often, but many on CP do, so I took a chance and just randomly called you out on it hoping you were one of those posters.

If you're not, I apologize.

Vesey is now officially an UFA.

He and his agents will be meeting with teams in Boston. His agent says not to expect a decision before Friday.

Whos' the biggest "star" to stiff the team that drafted him and sign on as a UFA for a different club?

Ended up signing with the Bruins, who traded him to arguably the worst hockey market in NHL history (Atlanta), which was then relocated to the worst city in the NHL (Winnipeg). Funny how things work out.

Aaron Portzline @Aportzline
Told #CBJ have expressed interest in UFA F Jimmy Vesey. Not seen as in the mix by most, but a willingness by agent Peter Fish to listen.

If they are willing to listen to the Blue Jackets, then they are likely going to listen to a Flames' pitch.

The more this drags on the less I like the player.

And I wasn't a fan to begin with.

He's been a free agent for a day and this is already dragging on for you? Your bias is obvious.

Not a huge fan of Vesey, but similar to the Shultz situation, why wouldn't a team make a pitch? Basically a free 2ndish rounder.

I'll be pretty surprised if he doesn't up in Chicago or Pittsburgh.

How good of prospect is Vessey? Is he going to step straight into a top 6 NHL spot?

Where would he fit with Connor, Motte, Compher, Jankowski?

Is he that much better than Jankowski that a team can offer him a free pass to NHL ice time?
