Chance for a Canadian medal in the Final of the Women's Eight Rowing competition scheduled to start at 8.

Also at 8 the Qualifying Rounds for the Women's 400m begin on the track. Alicia Brown runs for Canada in Heat 3. Kendra Clarke of Edmonton runs in Heat 4, and Carline Muir of Edmonton runs in Heat 8.

At 8:17 Heats for the Women's Track Team Pursuit begin in cycling. Canadian team is scheduled for Heat 4.

The Preliminary Heats for the Men's 100m begin at 6:30, but the Qualifying Heats begin at 9. Usain Bolt, Justin Gatlin, Andre De Grasse... For many this is the premiere event of the Summer Olympics. For anyone who doesn't know Andre De Grasse, he won Gold in the 2015 Pan Am Games in this event, won Bronze at last year's World Championships with a Personal Best of 9.92. De Grasse has only ran under 10 seconds once this year, a 9.99 at the Canadian Trials last month in Edmonton. Aaron Brown who will also race for Canada, actually has a time of 9.96 this year.

At 9:00 the two Canadian Women's Beach Volleyball teams face each other in the Round of 16.

9:00 also has Kei facing Muzzard in the first semifinal men's match. Kvitova and Madison Keys play each other for Bronze on the Women's side. After that Del Potro faces Nadal in the second semifinal and Puig faces Kerber for the Women's Gold!

Very interesting matchup.

I've seen quite a lot of beachvolleyball over the last months and Saxton and Schalk looked very good in the last couple of world cups prior to Rio.
I think they're ranked 16th and the Dutch couple of Brouwer and Meeuwsen is ranked 2nd, but this will be a close match. 3 sets for sure and it wouldn't surprise me if the Canadians take this one.

(and it would fit right in to our disastrous Olympics)

Steeplechase runner from Ethopia had a collision/fall and lost a shoe. She couldn't get it back on so she's running with one foot bare.

Edit. She ended up 7th, she's devastated

So to update on this we should be seeing Canadians run at 9:21, 9:28, and 9:49.

thanks to your OP, I saw this race (happened to read it just in time). Not the result we wanted, but that doesn't dampen my appreciation.
