Not just that but I am sure Shore could get 6 figures in the AHL, Linden Vey for example has an AHL salary of 325k

Not-Gaudreau has signed with Not-Calgary. Awesome.

Which is standard for ELC's and since his 2nd contract was an accepted QO his annual salary in the AHL didn't go up. If Shore was willing to sign an AHL deal I have no doubt he could get 100k. Like him or not he is still a very good AHL player.

10 goals in the AHL last year, career high. 6th on the team. Not sure AHL teams are knocking his door down either.

Spoken like someone who has no clue about the player they're discussing

Fell free to disagree with my post or opinion although it might make for better discussion if you had something to say.

But I would prefer if you kept your comments to my post vs. saying something about me.

Shore had a nice stretch in the AHL and IIRC made the mid season all star game once. But that doesn't translate into a top dollar AHL contract. Most spots are taken by real prospects. Shore hasn't shown much, at least since he's been in the Flames system.

What's there to say? You used goals to judge a playmaking centre, that in itself tells me all I need to know about your opinion on the subject because it it apparent you haven't watched him beyond his games with Calgary.

Shore had his struggles early on last year last year but came around in the second half. He was a solid playmaker on an offensively inept team and was bounced around between line and linemates more than almost anyone and rarely was it to do with his play. He'd have a good game as the top line RW, then the next game he's be pushed down to the 3rd line and put back to center.

Also 100k isn't a top dollar AHL contract anymore, like I pointed out some guys like Vey will be getting 300k+ if they play in the AHL.

It's the coaches fault. Didn't give him a fair shake. Revolving linemates. "Rarely was it to do with his play".

Or maybe he's really not much of a prospect anymore and not good enough to be a veteran on an AHL deal. The latter types of guys are pretty easy to find.

Vey is not a great example. Flames didn't sign him to play in Stockton - that's why he could negotiate a higher $ AHL figure.

I love when people that have clearly never watched the AHL club have such strong opinions of the players because htey think the stats sheet tells them all they need to know.

Surprised he chose to go to Europe vs. catching on with another NHL team and play top 9 minutes for them. Weird.
Not surprised. Very replaceable guy. No offence

He had a lot of NHL-calibre and NHL-ready skills (two-way game, playmaking) but his shot was just a liability. Constantly missed the net on bunnies.

Still prefer him over Vey.

Switzerland is a good choice. Decent standard of living and compensation, with some good opportunity to get back into the NHL.

Why? Linden Vey has much better AHL numbers than Shore, and let's see how he does when he's not dealing with a family murder conspiracy.

Man, I already forgot about Vey. I expect that to be an ongoing theme for the season.

Vey is small and slow. His smarts got him by in the AHL.
Shore is big and by the end of last season was pretty fast. It gave him an edge in things like checking and cycling even if he wasn't as, I dunno, productive, as Vey.
