How are the London Knights able to veto that name? It's the same league (CHL) that has the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Kitchener Rangers and Portland Winterhawks (and look at the uniforms of the latter two teams!)

I also don't get how the Blackhawks can't veto this when the Bruins vetoed Manitoba Bears for the team that eventually became Winnipeg Jets.

Nevada has so many options regarding animals or the desert, and they go for a hawk despite the fact that there's already the Blackhawks? Lame. Not as lame as the AHL which had two teams named Admirals for 14 years until Norfolk moved to San Diego last year, but still ... lame.

The NHL is so dumb for not wanting a gambling reference. If you are worried about that association, then don't put a franchise there.

Gambling is Vegas, gambling is Nevada. It doesn't matter how much you try and hide it, gambling is there.

The Aces and Blackjacks are the best possible name for this team.

Probably because the Bruins and Rangers don't care about some piddly junior teams making a microscopic about of money off of them. The reverse situation is far more lucrative because people actually buy NHL jerseys and it's a league that generates billions of dollars. Kind of stupid for the Knights not to accept whatever offer Foley gave them though.
