What about the other answer that says I have no idea where Obama was born, he was probably born in the United States, but even if he wasn't, he was still a naturally born American, or at least as Naturally born American as Ted Cruz who was born in Calgary. So regardless, even if it was somehow proven that he was born in Kenya, he'd still meet the utmost requirements of being an American Citizen to the degree that he is not exempt from being president of the United States.

Trump spent part of his speech in Florida tonight attacking Hillary for having Omar Mateen's dad in the crowd for one of her campaign stops.

Meanwhile, standing behind Trump as he's making these comments? None other than Mark "Pedophile" Foley.

I just learned what it actually takes to amend the US Constitution.

From https://www.archives.gov/federal-register/constitution/

"The Constitution provides that an amendment may be proposed either by the Congress with a two-thirds majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate or by a constitutional convention called for by two-thirds of the State legislatures. None of the 27 amendments to the Constitution have been proposed by constitutional convention."

It goes on (And this part's important....):

"Since the President does not have a constitutional role in the amendment process, the joint resolution does not go to the White House for signature or approval."

And:

"A proposed amendment becomes part of the Constitution as soon as it is ratified by three-fourths of the States (38 of 50 States).

So unless Hillary magically gains a 2/3rds majority of the House, the Senate, and 38 state legislatures, there's not a single thing she can do to repeal the 2nd amendment. Which she doesn't want to do, and has never done anything to suggest otherwise.

However there are different interpretations of the second amendment as as written it should allow for the possession of nuclear weapons as that is what is required to overthrow the state

Since that is not a rational position the Supreme Court rules on what appropriate limits to the second amendment are.

So if you appoint originality like Scalia you get less restrictions on the 2nd ammendment

A liberal justice on the Supreme Court would implement the common sense gun control measures that the vast majority of Americans and NRA members think are prudent.

I'm sure everyone would get to keep the guns they already owned.

I agree with you, but Hillary wants to take away your semi automatic rifles with large capacity magazines would be a legitimate attack.

Is that even true though? (I know, I know - truth is relative, pick one that works)

From her official campaign site (take it for what it's worth).

https://www.hillaryclinton.com/issue...ce-prevention/

"Expand background checks to more gun sales—including by closing the gun show and internet sales loopholes—and strengthen the background check system by getting rid of the so-called “Charleston Loophole.”

"Take on the gun lobby by removing the industry’s sweeping legal protection for illegal and irresponsible actions (which makes it almost impossible for people to hold them accountable), and revoking licenses from dealers who break the law."

"Keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers, other violent criminals, and the severely mentally ill by supporting laws that stop domestic abusers from buying and owning guns, making it a federal crime for someone to intentionally buy a gun for a person prohibited from owning one, and closing the loopholes that allow people suffering from severe mental illness to purchase and own guns. She will also support work to keep military-style weapons off our streets."

The bolded could be taken a number of ways. It's entirely possible she wants to go out into the country and retrieve all the AR-15s, but it seems more likely she'd want to reign in things like open-carrying assault weapons, and regulating how one could transport high capacity or high powered weaponry.

Maybe that's giving her too much credit; I don't believe it is, but what do I know.

Not necessarily. What he didn't do was present a convention that you were hoping to see. What was presented was exactly what he wanted you to see. He tapped into the metaphors that reach his target constituent. He used language that was down to their level. He used theatrics that appealed to that type of voter. This was a very well constructed and messaged program based on the audience he was hoping to reach. Part of what draws this particular segment of the population is his ego and him being presented as strong man. This segment of the population believes in the strong patriarch leader and this is exactly what Trump portrayed in this convention.

Again, and this is you framing Trump as you hope him to be rather than accepting what he is, a sociopath. This isn't a show, this is what he is. Trump doesn't care for the process or the betterment of anyone but Donald Trump. Why do you think he offered the whole ball of wax, control of both the domestic and foreign policy, to His possible running mates? He just said wants the title and position to extend his sphere of influence, not be part of the process. The guy is a sociopath. Textbook DSM 5 sociopath. He is presenting messaging campaigns that he believe will help him achieve his end goals, and based on the resolve of his supporters, he's achieving that goal.
I'm not framing him as anything I'm staying if he were trying to manipulate people and is different then the persona we see his actions would be different, since he didn't change is shows There is no master genius. This is trump. He's essentially just a slick talking con man.

Did you know Obama founded ISIS? And crooked Hillary was the co-founder. Fascinating.

Not directly related to the election, but yet another stab at trying to describe and understand the folks in the south. To me, it is representative of many of those that are Trump supporters:

http://qz.com/741804/southern-charm-...ear-of-change/

Quote:
I believe that the South remains, for all of its attributes and political progress, a philosophically broken region. Presenting Southern traditionalists with hard, obvious facts is pointless. They are stubborn in their ideals and fanatical in their fictions. They fill the voids of reality and common sense with prayer and voluntary blindness. (This, for example, is why Southern legislatures appear incapable of acknowledging the clear correlation between gun availability and gun casualties.)

But forced conformity is not the same as community. And this type of intolerance, mixed with denial, breeds the most dangerous kind of hypocrisy.

He is attempting to solidify his frame. You can see him trying to rationalize the statement and find a willing media member to forward the meme for him. Fortunately Hewitt would have none of it. Sadly the rest of the mass media did the work for him by repeating this bull#### over and over again. To those who have a deep seeded fear of ISIS and terrorism in general, this comment will find traction. Some here will laugh at what they view as his stupidity, but he is tossing crap at the wall and finding it stick with a lot of people. What Trump doesn't realize is that there are just as many people he turns off with this behavior as there are that he reaches.

Another poll shows Clinton ahead by double digits in New Hampshire:
http://www.wmur.com/blob/view/-/4114...lling-memo.pdf

I mention this because I think that New Hampshire may be a bit underrated in terms of electoral math. I think if we assume Colorado and Pennsylvania are no longer in play, New Hampshire gives Clinton 273 EVs, without winning any of Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Iowa, or Nevada.

So, if your assumptions prove correct, we are potentially looking at a landslide victory for Clinton if she wins one or two of the above mentioned states.

Trump has to be on Valium for this speech. Low energy would be better than this no energy speech. Best line so far "Wouldn't it be nice if got along with Russia?"....dead silence.

Nevermind, new best line from his speech "I know so many families that have been destroyed by the death tax". You literally cannot make this #### up. He's going to admit soon enough he's only running to expand eminent domain and eliminate the death tax and other real estate regulations.

Doesnt the 'death tax' start for an estate somewhere above 5 million dollars?
