Lolol

No organization has better positioned itself for future success than the Maple Leafs. Ownership has deep pockets, the front office has done a tremendous job stockpiling prospects at all levels, Mike Babcock is a seasoned head coach and team president Brendan Shanahan's vision is coming into focus.

Smart hiring, shrewd trading and skilled drafting have transformed what was once a moribund franchise into one that now commands league-wide respect. They're building from the ground up and showing a level of patience that's unprecedented in their market.

It's been a long, painful road, but the Leafs finally appear primed to become a competitive club, and management deserves to be lauded for sticking to the plan.
Never has the term "tempting fate" been more appropriate.

Ownership should have two criteria. Do they meddle and can they spend to the cap limit?

Articles like this are exactly why non-Leaf fans enjoy watch the Leafs falter and why I hope they become the Oilers of the East.

Not far off of something similar....

"No organization has better positioned itself for future success than the Oilers. Ownership has deep pockets, the front office has done a tremendous job stockpiling prospects at all levels, Dallas Eakins is an up and coming head coach and team president Kevin Lowe's vision is coming into focus.

Smart hiring, shrewd trading and skilled drafting have transformed what was once a moribund franchise into one that now commands league-wide respect. They're building from the ground up and showing a level of patience that's unprecedented in their market.

Awesome troll job by The Score. All you had to do was look at the minor league system ratings to know this garbage.

Man the media has not learned a thing from the Oilers as they are getting way ahead of themselves with the Leafs love. Putting them first is a slap in the face to the perennial top teams of the NHL. That said it's RSN so it's maybe one step above the Bleacher Report.

Kevin Cheveldayoff 8th best GM in the league?

But ya this is the weirdest "ranking" I think I've ever seen online.

Yeah, well remember those trades he won? Or the success the Jets have had?

To be fair, he did destroy the Sabres on the Kane trade.

I agree, though Evander Kane is the hockey equivalent of Bart from this scene:

Totally, but it's not like he got some sort of good return. Kane is a vortex of negativity, but Stafford and Myers are way past potential realized plus realized there wasn't much potential

Yep, Myers is ok but not what he is "supposed" to be at this point in his career. Stafford is a useable veteran.

But it's mainly a win for WPG thanks to getting rid of Kane in general.

Though Bogosian has been decent for Buffalo from what I understand too.

Winnipeg would've won even if they just got a 2nd-round pick. Losing Kane was essentially addition by subtraction.

The only thing the Leafs are best at is Tanking. What a joke.

Lemieux, Armia and the 1st round pick didn't hurt either.
