Thanks, I worded that wrong - you are totally correct. No wonder Friedman and the like don't like doing radio - idiots like me misconstrue their takes and ruin it for everyone

Sent Darren my first tweet to another person since I set up a Twitter account... 5 years ago. I had to get my server to show me how, and wow, I felt old. So, I showed her that I can be vulnerable... Step one complete. Lol

Hey, this post came off my phone! MY PHONE!

I liked the breadth and depth of the podcast.

The banter was good but Rob Kerr does not know how to be a co-host. Darren did nice to work off him though.

listened to the second podcast today. Was really excited about the topic of going thru the anticipated roster. However, the content was pretty meh.

I thought Kerr was quite frankly annoying for most of it. I wanted to hear their thoughts on what the flames got in elliott/johnson and their numbers/caphit comparisons to other teams or even the flames last year. i didn't care to hear about the "what if" scenarios Kerr threw out there.

Also, instead of repeating that it isn't his podcast and that Haynes should do his thing, perhaps if he kept quiet a bit, it would accomplish that better.

Anyways, nice hearing flames talk in july, regardless.

Agreed. Kerr kinda stole the mic and lots of speculative what ifs. I preferred ep 1.

Actual hockey topics included:
  • Hypothesizing why Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan remain unsigned
  • The taboo question: Do the Flyers have the assets to pull off a trade for Gaudreau?
  • Re-visiting my top 20 prospect rankings and debating some of the rankings
  • Expansion, the many questions and the decisions that loom
  • Do the reasons for the Troy Brouwer signing outweigh the risks?

If the Flyers truly, desperately wanted Gaudreau, I think:
Voracek @ 50℅ Retained
Giroux @ 50% Retained
Provorov

Would get a conversation going.

Would prefer to target younger talent apart from Giroux and Voracek.

Schenn
Provorov (has to be in there)
Sanheim
1st.

The problem is the Flames are already FLUSH with good young D. Why would they NEED Sanheim/Provorov/etc?

Good point on Sanheim, but Provorov has elite potential. You take him for that reason.
I'll take Koneczy over Sanheim then.

Yeah, I know, right? Some of us just like to queue it up in our own podcasting apps for listening to in the car along with the other podcasts we are currently following.
