And wrestling had to compete with those to remain in the Olympics because it's not a "core sport".

Wrestling in the Olympics seems about as natural as it gets, going back to the ancient games.

Kind of racist to just add Karate to the Olympics coincidentally the same year its held in Japan.

I think so, also to get a bigger initial crowd. Remember when they had demonstration sports first? Calgary got Curling and Short Track Speed Skating in as demo and then they got full status later. Doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Sports just go straight in.

I think skateboarding and surfing have a pretty good chance to break the record for most participants disqualified for failing a drug test. Or will they do the wise thing and waive drug testing for those sports?

I cant imagine a single drug that I would consider 'performance enhancing' for those sports.

It's restricted, not banned. In 1998, Ross Rebagliati originally was stripped of his gold medal for testing positive for pot, but the COA appealed and the decision was reversed.

Was going to say the same thing. It feels like every second Olympics it's a "new" sport added, I don't get it.

Baseball and softball haven't been in the Games for that long and they are not in and out. London was the first time it was was taken out as an official sport.

Baseball was a demonstration sport in 1984 and 1988, then became a full-medal sport in 1992. Softball was added to the Olympics in 1996.

In 2005, the IOC voted to remove both sports from the Games starting in 2012. This year, they approved the sports reinstatement for 2020.

What about Experience Enhancing drugs?

Or I rather they do this: Stonlympics, sponsored by Cheetos.

What would be the "premier" summer Olympic event?

I think Men's ice hockey is clearly the premier competition in winter.

In summer, I'd probably go with swimming events and the 100m athletics sprint.

I'd say ice hockey is the premiere event in North America but for Europe it would be the men's downhill.

Of course in summer it is the men's 100m.
