I don't know - no lasers, no smoke bombs or fog machine, no "I/we love you clagary", no wearing of the jersey of the local sports team and no 50 mission cap.....
also for any of you who bought concert t-shirts, be careful, they shrink in the wash
anywyas, I am a casual tragically hip fan and I thought it was a solid show.
was it my imagination or did gord downie appear to get really emotional during that one song

As others have mentioned, they absolutely crushed Grace, Too. Just an unbelievable reaction from the audience.
It was a really genuine show. Almost no banter, just great tunes, great musicianship and great warmth from the audience. Well done!

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.
Simple presentation, but it didn't need to be flashy. The music and atmosphere was incredible.
Grace, Too. Wow.
Bobcaygeon. Wow.
Ahead by a Century to wrap the first encore.....the feels.

Is there a way to buy merchandise today down at the Dome?
Yes. They have a booth setup for selling mech outside West entrance. Probably won't be setup today but if you wanted to buy merch tomorrow for anyone not attending the concert.

Story time, at a previous agency we had a democratic jukebox system for the office music. Anyone could log in & queue up songs to play over the office speakers. If no one had any songs queued the jukebox would pick songs at random from our library.
Anyways, the running joke for the longest time was to queue up "Yer Not The Ocean" whenever Neil Young's "I'm The Ocean" come up in rotation. As a rebuttal to Neil's dubious claims.

As others have said - Grace, Too. I mean, wow. What a moment. I have never heard a crowd that loud before, I could barely hear the band! I swear the Dome was shaking. Unbelievable.

Yeah, that was the hottest crowd I've ever seen/heard at the dome... hell, that was the loudest crowd I've ever heard period. Great great show.
This new song is great. I think at a certain point they got taken for granted, and people stopped exploring the later works:
So true! On the later albums there has been more and more filler (songs to skip) but there are usually also a few killer songs, or songs you need to see live to get a full appreciation for. Show was amazing last night, going to try and dig up tickets for Wednesday...

It’s one last tour. For many on Monday, one last show; potentially the last time we will hear these songs that meant so much, culturally, to our country’s coming of age and, personally, to virtually every spectator at the Saddledome Monday night.
There were the songs that weren’t played, of course.
But, deeper than that, it would have been great to see what the band would offer going into their twilight years. What would they be singing about at 70? It was hard not to think about as the rest of the band vacated the stage and left Downie by himself, waving to the crowd with the house lights on.
For Monday’s audience, this one last chance to connect would have to be enough.

Every Hip album has something to offer, at the very least Gord's lyrical ability always kept things interesting. I don't think these guys ever phoned it in.
I actually think the latest album has a pretty great side 2 (I've been listening on vinyl).

Been to last 3 shows in AB. Each night tops the other. Last night was a new level. 'September Seventeen......" Wow.
A great article yesterday on macleans.ca by Michael Barclay. I am unable to post the link. If someone could I would be very appreciative. It would be great for everyone on this ride to read it.
Hard to believe Gord had brain Surgery, taking out a tumour, under 8 months ago. Saw the significant scar on Saturday.
I think it's great that they still play so many of their older songs. A lot of bands that have been around for a while retire older songs because rehearsing them an being able to perform them at their best all the time can be quite an ordeal.
They have to be one of the hardest working bands in the industry to put together the tour this fast and with the quality being presented.

Well put.
Live it is amazing seeing his facial expressions. My view is it is about him being told by Dr the tumour is cancerous and then at end telling his wife, a cancer survivor, the diagnosis or a close friend. Just my interpretation but powerful either way.
