Well this is bittersweet. Had to give up my tickets for Wednesday's show as my wife's c-section is planned for that morning.

At least I can watch the last one on CBC.

Meant to say Something On from Phantom Power, my favourite song from that album. Must have been the first time for the tour?

Sounds like it was awesome, wish I was there.

What an amazing show. They captured the perfect energy for a goodbye tour, a true celebration of the strength of their catalogue, the quality of live band that they are, and the relationship they have with their fans. The moments with Gord alone on stage and the roar of the audience was electric. I'll remember this show forever, so glad I got a chance to attend.

A wonderful show. Just a great mix of songs and the energy in the building was palpable. I was overjoyed to hear escape is at hand for the travelling man. Nautical disaster would have been awesome but the show was basically a perfect good bye show.

Thanks Gord

It was tremendous. There was a much bigger buzz and a way more upbeat mood in Calgary. I'm not saying the Edmonton show was bad, by any means, but Calgary just blew the roof off. Fiddlers Green. Bobcaygeon. Boots Or Hearts. Sigh. It was perfect. Just perfect.

The Hip's twitter acct has an official periscope stream of the song.

It doesn't do it justice - the place went nuts because it was that good.

For the deep tracks - yawning or snarling!!!

I was in the pisser when escape came on... Everybody was talking and blathering away and I shouted "Shut up - we can all listen". And it went pin drop silent for a long while. Such a friendly audience

canadehdianman. Bittersweet is correct. I will fell the feels for you on Wednesday.

Ahead by a century tore through me. Too much in my life tied to that song. What a show - what a band.

More thoughts later

August 1 2016 - it happened and I was there.

I held it together until Ahead by a Century. No dress rehearsal, this is our life.

Truly a great show. I'm sad that it's over.

1st Encore: Trouble At The Henhouse (3 songs)
2nd Encore: Up to Here (2 songs)
Now that you point that out, that's been the format for all of the shows so far. First, five blocks of four songs each from a single album, in this order:
  1. One of their first three albums
  2. Man Machine Poem
  3. One of their albums released since 2000 (Music @ Work and later)
  4. One of their first six albums (up to and including Phantom Power)
  5. Another of their first six albums
  • First Encore: 3 songs from one of their first six albums
  • Second Encore: 2 songs from one of their first six albums

The first show in Victoria swapped the order of 3 & 4, but other than that, they've all followed the same structure.

At each show, they've played songs from 5 of their first 6 albums. Monday was the first show without anything from Fully Completely. So far, they've played songs from Phantom Power every show.

The second set of songs has always been from Man Machine Poem. Besides that, they've only played one set each night from one of their albums released after Phantom Power. In Violet Light is the only album they haven't played anything from yet.
