That would be pretty hard to do, but they could keep things mum until charges are laid, at the very least. I find it astonishing that people's reputations can be pissed on for no good reason like this.

That is good news -- I know Kane has some attitude/behavior problems, was hoping they weren't THIS bad.
She never even accused him of anything either. I wonder if you could go at the media for defamation for something like that.

This alleged victim has filed a civil lawsuit against Kane.
http://www.dailypublic.com/articles/...Ge9DwE.twitter
Quote:
While the local news is focused on allegations of Buffalo Sabre Evander Kane’s alleged criminal conduct at a Chippewa bar in June of this year, a lawsuit filed a few weeks ago has been largely overlooked. In December, Kane was being investigated for an alleged “sex offense”. That investigation was dropped in March, with no criminal action taken against Kane. It was reported, however, that the alleged victim had sought medical attention the next morning and had no memory of what happened.
In a complaint filed by her lawyers in state Supreme Court, the plaintiff Rachel Kuechle says that on the day after Christmas 2015, she met Kane at Encore Restaurant on Pearl Street, and he bought her some drinks. Early on the morning of December 27, Kane invited Kuechle to his room at the Harborside Marriott, “under the false pretext of attending a party” in Kane’s room. Kuechle alleges that Kane instructed his driver to take the pair to the Harborside Marriott’s employee entrance, where they entered the building.
Providing no further details of what happened in that room, Kuechle’s complaint alleges that Kane committed a “violent, offensive” ”battery” upon her, causing her to, “suffer bodily injury including lacerations, extensive bleeding requiring multiple surgeries and blood transfusions, and serious emotional trauma.” She goes on to bring causes of action against Kane for intentional infliction of extreme emotional distress, “unreasonably endangering” Kuechle, and negligence.

Plus a first and two solid prospects.
I couldn't believe when they made that deal in the first place, Kane had never given me the impression that he would have smartened up regardless of where he played, he just seems far too arrogant. Was surprised that Tim Murray thought he could be the one to whip him into a responsible/respectable player.

Eh, not really. Kane has been a disappointment but it's not like we miss those guys. They're both crazy inconsistent, streaky, and were key players on our two worst teams ever. Big moves had to be made -- sometimes they work out (O'Reilly) and sometimes they don't. It did not surprise me that Winnipeg got worse when they were key players for them too. But trust me -- there's no Sabres fans sitting around pining for the return of Myers and Stafford.
Also, people like to conveniently omit that we got Bogosian in that trade too, who's been a real solid and physical top 3 d-man for is since.

I just want to be sure, is there any kind of glove involved in this case? Cause usually that's where things go badly.

Such a clown.
But tons of potential as a hockey player. Tuff choices for a GM.

Just a reminder that Kane was cleared of any wrong doing in December after police completed their investigation. This new development is a civil suit filed by the girl.
Why are people assuming he's done something wrong now? Am I missing something?

You're spinning this trade so hard if it were a dreidel you'd be striking oil.

Not really. I've watched a heck of a lot more of those two guys than you have, and so far nothings changed. In a season or two of the exact same inconsistent, disappointing play, you won't be sad to see them leave either.
It was a bad trade but let's remember Buffalo was coming off of two horrific last place seasons. I'll take a GM that actually makes big moves to shake up a garbage team, even if they're risky and don't always work out, instead of sitting around until our assets are worth nothing like a certain team up north.

Man, you're trying really hard to make the Sabres look somewhat competent in that trade.
I can understand if you had these feelings while both were Sabres but I guarantee you thought highly of Myers while he was a Sabre and only after the trade did you change your tune. Feel free to show any old posts where you criticized Myers while he was a Sabre.

I'm glad you're here to tell me how I think/thought of players.
I thought highly of Myers during and after his rookie season, like every person who watches hockey did. Then a season of thinking it was just a sophomore slump, then a couple seasons of hoping he would get it back, then the slow realization that he wouldn't and he would never look as good as he did in his rookie year again, to hoping he was traded while he still had some value. We don't really talk about the Sabres much here beyond the trade threads and such, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

Somehow you found a way to talk about the Sabres and Myers (even in a Kane sexual assault thread) so don't tell me you don't really talk about the Sabres much aside from a few threads.
You found a way to bash Myers several times, if not dozens of times since the trade. What was stopping you from expressing such a strong opinion before the trade? I searched and didn't find one negative post from you about Myers until the trade happened.
So even if you didn't like him you sure didn't express your feelings like you're doing now. And he's looked great in Winnipeg, maybe it was the Sabres, and not the player? They do have the worst GM in the league.

Myers and Stafford out played Kane and Bogosian last year both in fancy stats and regular stats.
Kane is a total disaster off ice.
Winnipeg also got a prospect and a pick from that deal. How anyone can look at that trade and not see it as an utter fleecing is beyond me. Even a Sabres fan.

Yeah, crazy I found a way to talk about the Sabres and Myers in a thread about a Sabres player who Tyler Myers was traded for, in response to a post about the trade. Somehow that happened.
The rest of your post is just baiting that I have no interest in responding to. If you've gone and searched my post history you're way too committed to trying to prove some weird point.
