For the rest of the year yes, he'll be back to starting next season for sure

Obviously he will be in the pen for playoffs too right?

@MartyYork honestly the entire city of Pittsburgh must make fun of Toronto. We just hand them talent, for nothing.

He's better then every pitcher they got. Wish him the very best in Pitt. Looks like another Kessel trade to me... https://twitter.com/MartyYork/status/760233089687810053

i really hope this is a troll job and don't actually think this.

Yup. If he goes to the pen he stays. You dont yo-yo a guy starter-pen-starter, if you are moving him there to protect his arm.

And yes, will be in the pen for the playoffs (if they make it)

I just discovered who he was. What a maroon. I am guessin it Rogers that use to employ him and that where the bitterness comes from?

He really really overrates Hutch. A lot.

The Hutchison deal makes sense long term, but it sure doesn't help this year IMO. I think they are hoping that Liriano can magically turn things around with Martin even though his control has been terrible this year. IIRC he leads the NL and possibly the majors in BB

?

At the very least, you get that same out of Liriano as you would Hutchison this year. Not sure how can say it doesn't help this year. And if Liriano discovers even a teeny bit of past magic he's had with Russell, well...

And add in two "upper" prospects coming to the Jays?

Win all around.

How did Pillar not break his wrist on that? Looked so painful.

If he loses games like he has been it makes the Jays worse, not really hard to understand.

Versus the same idea from Hutchison. But at any rate, I'll leave you to it. Cheers.

You seem to be ignoring the fact that Sanchez is moving to the bullpen and Liarano will be filling that role. I'm not sure why it is so difficult for you to understand how someone feels this doesn't improve the team right now.

Well you have in mind kind of moved the goal posts on your argument. You previously seemed to be saying Hutchison vs Liarano.

Now its moved on to "moving Sanchez to bullpen makes us worse, regardless".
Well, if Sanchez moves he is moving regardless - i.e. they made the decision to move him and then they went out and got someone to replace him. Sunken cost - is moving Sanchez the right move? Who knows (do they protect his arm? does moving him to the bullpen even do that? etc etc)? But basing off the likelihood that they are moving him out of the rotation, and they need a starter, this is a good move I think with Hutchison.

I'm not defensive, no disrespect meant, but you are rather blunt in responses to say the least.
