Haha yeah Creekside Pub is a bit of a trip. It kinda feels like the type of place you'd find in a motel bar along the trans Canada highway in BF Saskatchewan or Alberta.
The current owner is a really nice guy, and he's managed to get a ton more traffic in there then the previous owners ever had. But he's made some weird decisions, like getting rid of Big Rock beer, and devoting 1/4 of his floor space to awkward karaoke or 3 foot Jenga. At one point he had a gasoline powered blender with motorcycle handle bars on the patio.
"Eclectic" is the best description I can make for that place, each time you go it's got some new odd ball feature, it almost seems like it belongs on a sitcom and the gag is a new promotion/bar game each week.

The bad thing is someone moving to Calgary might actually look at this avenue list to figure out where they should live.

So true. Can you imagine moving into your Brentwood home, thought to be your dream based solely on your magazine perusing, only to find millions of dangling loose wires schrun every which way.

That argument was won in previous years and laid to rest.

Looks like they just threw all the communities into a random generator and went with the results.

I was there in May for a friend's birthday. The owner was walking around greeting every table. Weird guy. He showed me a nude GILF pic he had on his phone. Supposedly he is a high school teacher, but I'm skeptical he has a college degree.

This is honestly the worst list you could possibly come up with. Just awful. Anyone who was responsible for letting this get to print is an idiot.

True, but it's such a silly list. The community of Mahogany isn't even on the list.
And it won Canada's community of the year LOL

Well the community exists.
Avenue thinks it doesn't.

Isn't this pretty much every suburban community in Calgary?

People just get upset that their community didn't make the top 10 so they bash everything! I would feel the same if I was not in the top 10
