He's his usually dickish self at times, but he knows a good amount about tennis. I'm just glad the Jays had a day game so we don't have to figure out where OLN is tonight.

Genie's draw is really open too. Would be terrific for her to make a semifinal or better.

Happy for Genie. You can see how much it means to her, being able to win at home.

And now Shapovalov gets an early break. Centre court is very friendly to Canadians so far tonight!

Denis can absolutely let it rip on both sides. Biggest issue I see right now is the footwork, but the groundstrokes are very good already.

I'm sure Denis would love to have that 4-3, 30-0 game back when Dimitrov broke him, but he should still feel pretty good about those two matches. His game is there, he just needs to get some more physical development now to be ready for the tour.

I know I'm late to the discussion, but as awful as Cox is with hockey his passion for tennis is obvious. He loves the sport, and does an ok job.

Was a lot of fun watching Denis today. When he won juniors at wimbledon I had no idea how close he was!

Future of Canadian tennis indeed looks bright, Denis showed me last night that he has all the shots, as the Senator said, needs to improve his footwork and in-game strategy, both of those will definitely come with more experience.

It's been nice to see some success on the ATP level but hopefully he goes to work and plays a ton of Challenger events the rest of the season (which is what the story was coming out of Wimbledon).

He's not going to have any choice. I don't see him getting too many wildcard entries. And he'll probably be playing US Open as a junior anyway.

The Granby Challenger is next week, Gatineau the week after. He'll be at both.

He can rack up a bunch of points. He only has 7 out of his 166 points to defend in 2016.

Looking ahead, if Milos can defeat Jared Donaldson (currently ranked #147 in the world) tonight , he would then meet Monfils who took out Goffin in a 3 set thriller earlier today.

Even with Roger and Rafa and Andy absent there's still potential some nice QF and beyond matchups this week. Obviously everyone wants Novak-Milos SF.

Pfft. I hope Novak loses his next match and Milos wins the whole thing!
