I thought that was pay based solely on length of service.
Also, isn't the whole 73 cents on the "man dollar" kind of bull#### anyway.

I can't get on board with many of his "socialist" (brackets = non disparaging description) ideas but man does Bernie seem like a solid dude who cares.

I get it, that's how I feel and felt about Obama. I just felt he was more pragmatic.

Yeah, I don't think he's disingenuous but he's incredibly naive.

My experience is in the building trades unions and there is pay equality. Pay scales are tied to tenure through the apprenticeship system but that is typically a four year process. I can't speak for the public service unions.

Yes. Naive in thinking he would ever get a majority of people outside of college ages when everyone is conveniently a revolutionary socialist. Then they get out of school and realize it's more complicated.

I could eat dinner with Bernie Sanders, mainly because I think we'd eat spaghetti and talk about how great the world is.
With Trump, I'd be in some gaudy living room eating caviar and quiche and I'd feel very uncomfortable listening to his nonsensical rants.
With Hillary, we'd have distilled water for dinner, which I imagine would be rather odd and sterile.

Or Naive in thinking that he, as president, could ever conceivably get the Senate and the House on side with most of his policies and completely naive as to how he would pay for them and how he plans on "holding wall street accountable".

Indeed.
I believe the tablecloth on Bernie's table would be made of warm, smooth material.

Pretty solid speech by Bernie tonight. I think he did a great job of appealing to his supporters while also supporting Clinton.

Well banking regulations can be enforced, so it's not out of the realm of possibilities that there's something to get done there. However, passing anything that upsets the financial status quo would never happen, and that's just the reality of the U.S. being a fiercely capitalist society. Socialism is never going to be electable in America.

That's a rather sweeping (and convenient) generalization. Changes in (perceived) self interest is just as plausible an expanation for changes in political views as one ages.
My views have not changed substantially since leaving school. By some measures, I may have even moved to the left.
