There are thousands of Bernie supporters currently protesting the DNC chanting either "lock her up" of "hell no DNC, we won't vote for Hillary."

If they can be ushered away under the guise of security you can bet it's going to happen. Dems have spent the last week bemoaning the GOPs lack of unity, they won't want their convention headlines to be upended by Bernies supporters.

Here's the speaker schedule

https://www.demconvention.com/event-categories/july-25/

Sanders the first night just before Michelle Obama.

Looks like Chelsea speaks before Hillary. Dems definitely lose the hot daughter battle

Or maybe they make an "official protest zone" or "free speech zone" that's a few blocks away.

Read this joke on Reddit:

Back to back Mondays of Michelle Obama speeches is just too much.

I get the homophobe stuff; he probably is that, though let's give some small credit to Trump giving probably the most pro-LGBT statement ever made in a GOP nomination speech.
1) Trumps LGBT statement was interesting--though it fed his anti-Islam rhetoric. He'll protect the LGBTQ community from foreign threats. Not domestic. There are plenty of domestic threats that need to be dealt with.

2) First off, Pence claimed that Mulan was feminist liberal propaganda, because clearly a woman couldn't possibly be effective as a warrior.
https://www.theguardian.com/film/201...-election-film

Secondly he signed into law a strict anti-abortion law that prevents abortion based on fetal abnormalities--which would include fatal abnormalities, meaning a woman with a wanted pregnancy that was not viable, would have to carry to term regardless of the effect on her emotional well-being, because clearly men know better than women and doctors.

http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-w...tions-into-law

Even other anti-abortion activists spoke out against the bill, that it was excessive.

Really this is just a good summarization of what a misogynistic mess Mike Pence is, and just how truly awful it would be for American women to give him even more power than he has.

https://www.plannedparenthoodaction....ductive-rights

So he's done his best to stop all abortions, even in many rape cases. He's tried to defund Planned Parenthood and then took money earmarked to help low-income women, and then donated it to an anti-choice organization. He insists that a fictionalized version of a real historical figure is "liberal propaganda", that women who work stunt their children's growth, etc.

Mike Pence is awful for women, and I want him nowhere near the Presidency, especially given that Trump will likely pass all major decision-making onto him, and that he would have a hand in placing three new SCOTUS judges who could have major effects on the survival of Roe v. Wade.

He's also terrible for the LGBTQ community, after signing "religious freedom" bills that legalize discrimination.

Mike Pence would be Trump's Cheney, and that's absolutely terrifying.

You and I are both quite partisan, but I've always been honest about it.

As usual though, you miss the point. You're so upset that your horse got beat in the Democratic primaries that you are choosing to support someone who stands against virtually every belief you have expressed in political threads here.

Sanders would have been my preferred candidate as well. But much like the Alberta election was, the American is shaping up as a battle between awful choices. But I find it rather hilarious that you are so bitter Sanders lost that you're willing to sacrifice the principles you claim to hold out of spite.

You really should have promoted supporting a third party candidate. It would have looked better.

Sanders is the one person who can unify the Democratic Party right now. A full-throated endorsement from him would go a long way to resurrecting a convention that right now looks like it could be as big a disaster as Trump's. Surely he understands this, and realizes that in a way this is his "big moment"--but I guess we will see tonight.

What if Sanders does not endorse Hillary during his speech and goes off on a tirade against her?

God I love would that. At this point, I only want to see a #### show because no matter what, the American public will be the true losers in this election.

There needs to be a huge shake-up. Somehow.

Sanders is probably better off playing good soldier at this point. If Hilary loses to Trump, her career is over. Might give him the inside lane for a 2020 campaign.

I was hoping for Bernie Sanders. My wife voted for Bernie Sanders in the primary. Neither of us are fans of Hillary Clinton. But there's more at stake here than electing a figure head to POTUS. People whining about Bernie should consider what "teaching the country a lesson" would really mean.

He'll be 78 years old in 2020. I don't know if that's in the plans. It probably shouldn't be.

He's also already said how he would treat two of our major trading partners in Mexico and China, and it was all deragatory. How do you think his complete void of understand of the vast majority of countries around this world is going to play? Trump in charge would set the US back 150 years from a foreign policy perspective. Letting a guy like that have access to the nuclear codes is just too terrifying to consider.
Good Lord. And here I thought only the Republicans were declaring armageddon.

Nothing of the sort will happen. Like what the #### do you think will happen? China will place massive tariffs because Trump is an #######? LOL. Yeah way to shoot yourself in the head.

He may be "awful for women", and I also want him nowhere near the oval office, but a pro-life agenda has nothing whatsoever to do with misogyny. We need to stop drawing that line right ####ing now. I'm pro-choice, but being pro-life does not in any sense equate to a hatred of women. It's this kind of hysteria that makes me despise my own side of the political spectrum.

The Mulan article, meanwhile, is absolutely hilarious. That, now that I read it, is quite clearly sexist. And again, incredibly funny. Did no one tell him that this was a fictional cartoon for kids? Christ.

We're going to have to agree to disagree, because when a politician tells me that he knows my body and that he can make any decision about whether or not to continue a pregnancy for me, he is attacking my autonomy and declaring that I'm unfit to make that decision myself.

Clearly his entire line of thinking is that women shouldn't be allowed to make that kind of decision for themselves, that women should obviously be mothers at home, that the idea of women in the military is absolute madness. It all adds up to a whole lot of misogyny to me. It's bad enough that this man held so much power over Indiana, I don't want him affecting SCOTUS choices.

That's not what he's saying at all. He's on the record that he supports a woman's choice. He is able to separate that from his personal beliefs.

I like that personally.
