Besides being terrifying & nativist & apocalyptic, this speech is strangely circular.

I have a green card, so I actually do have experience in this matter.
The system being a boondoggle, is not justification for allowing illegal immigrants to stay.

This is getting random. Coal! Obamacare! Let's fix the TSA! Veterans!
This is a badly structured speech. Paradoxically, though, it's a great speech for national primetime from a guy who's basically a lunatic, in that there is no content that's particularly objectionable. Sure, most people on here will disagree with most of it (including me), but that's because it's a GOP convention speech. There's nothing he's said, really (aside from the wall) that couldn't have been said by Rubio as nominee.
Trump not sewering himself and sounding like someone who could conceivably be president (even for just a few minutes) is probably a net win.

Still about 20% to go off the leaked transcript. Terrible to make this speech this long.

This guy is truly amazing. He can do it all apparently. And quickly.
Why didn't he run 4 years ago? He could have saved the world by now!

Wait...did he just lead into a section of his speech about eliminating programs by talking about the VA scandal? Is he going to eliminate the VA? WTF.

Hillary wants to abolish the 2nd amendment. There's no way he's saying that just for theatrics, is he? That's gotta be true.

Trump effectively just said he wants to remove the barriers between church and state, allowing religious organizations to have political views and sway.
Welcome to the end of America everyone.

Here comes some crazy... wants religious institutions able to campaign politically and still be tax exempt. FML. Aside from the wall, that's easily the stupidest thing he's said tonight.

Rubio's speech probably would have been juuuust a little bit more positive. Trump's problem with this speech is it's mostly preaching to the choir. Appearing Presidential following a script is nice, but he doesn't seem to be courting anyone except the people who are already voting for him.

The best part of this speech is the audience looks so disappointed
But if this is trump for the next 100 days he will win.
