I always wave when someone let's me in...but I never get the wave when I do the same for someone. I just start yelling a little bit....
It's a rarity these days for people to wave and at least I'm glad it doesn't annoy only me.

I always wave.
When i cut people off i give them a wave, and pretend they let me in, and it seems to calm them down, when im thinkin f you for not letting me in, and i still got in.
Ive really been paying attention to the wave for the last few years - cuz it seems like noone driving a truck ever waves. Why is that? i now refuse to let anyone in who drives a truck. For five years that ive been paying close attention to this to, i have NEVER received a wave from a person driving a Truck (pick -ups, not dump trucks, or semis). Why?

I personally dont' drive... but my parents always give some sort of wave, thanking the person... I mean, I do that even on a pedestrian cross walk (the ones where the cars kinda come out of the parking lot)
i remember this one time... my dad stopped so the bus could pull out of the bus stop... we got the blinker from the bus driver... very nice

I wave 100% of the time and let people in not expecting a wave. I'm just courteous in that sense I guess. I get gratification letting people go ahead of me in traffic, or even in lines some times that I don't need a courtesy wave.

Sometimes when I wave, I wiggle my fingers at the same time, to freak out the other driver. Also, sometimes I put on my fake had with six fingers. Gotta keep people awake, ya know.

I'm not trying to sound like a pessimist but if I take these repliers as a sample for the whole population, shouldn't like 95% of people be giving courtesy waves. I think I can safely say that it's not the case...
Just thought I'd throw this out there...

You'll always get a wave from me, as well as an acknowledgement wave / flash back.
If you don't give me a wave after I've made a gap for you, you'll drop a few IQ points in my book. Sadly, this is more and more the case in this city. I've noticed traffic courtesy (and for that matter, basic driving skills) has declined over the last few years.

Hmm... I almost always get a wave - probably a good 90% of the time. I'm really surprised by this thread.
I always wave as well. I've never even thought about it. Some people don't wave, but some people don't say "please" and "thank you" either. I'm guessing they're the same people.

When I let someone in, I either wave them in with my arm outside the window or from the inside. When a driver sees that they clearly know my intentions and I usually get the thank you wave or atleast a nod. If we want the thank you to carry-on in this city, I figure I have to set the example first even though some don't do it back.
Do unto others.......

Me thinks the bastages who don't wave aren't bothering to reply to this thread
I'll always try to wave... but get it back less than 50% of the time

I do the same as you.
It makes your day when someone recognizes that you were polite.
It ****es me off when someone doesn't recognize what you did for them and makes you not want to do it for others.
I wish I had a tank so when dick heads who think they own the road are *******s I could run right over them.
