I'm a fan of movie specific threads. So I'm starting this one because I just bought my recliner seats for Thursday Aug 4. If tickets are already being sold, then I think it is thread time.
I mentioned in another thread I'm a little surprised at how it is being marketed very fun and kid friendly. I liked the earlier trailers that were darker. I hope it's a dark funny.

I'm very interested in this one (Been a fan of SS for a while now) and hope that it's at least funny. Dark funny would be better. I am hoping that what we see in the trailers is a common sample of the movie, not "all the funny bits".
Oh and technically it opens on Aug 5th but that's just so that Thursday counts towards their Friday box office. I really hope the studios change this at some point and start just saying the correct day.
Should mean it'll be 14A in Canada. I just looked and I don't think the rating is listed yet.
not necessarily. Most super hero movies are PG-13 in the states but get a PG rating in Canda.
Dark Knight, Avengers, Batman v Superman, all PG-13 in USA, but PG in Canada for example.
Not saying Suicide Squad won't be 14A, it probably has a darker nature, but it's certainly not a slam dunk to be because of the PG13 rating in the States.
Suicide Squad is supposed to be at Conan's show here in San Diego for the taping of his show Saturday night. Probably handing out Funko figures to the people attending, there is a joker one of him this year. They can sell for a pretty penny I think. Nice bonus for those able to attend.
This should be a fun movie. I just hope they don't play to Robbie/Smith, the Squad as a whole deserves equal play. The comics have never been about focusing on one or two characters but instead the dynamic between all of these misfits. From the trailers so far it seems like they are on track. I will go opening night for this one.

Honestly, I could probably watch Harley Quinn talking about the laws of thermodynamics for an hour and a half and probably come out of the movie thinking I got my money's worth.

Unless it's Schwarzenegger doling out the punchlines, there is no comedy action worth seeing. Why can't they just have made a movie with a good storyline instead of trying for cheesy made for tv lines? The original idea sounded good, now seeing the previews, it looks pretty cheesy. Not my thing without a good story line.

How do you know it doesn't have a good storyline? Deadpool was solid comedy action and Arnold wasn't in that.

I can't disagree more. This is a comic book movie. Some degree of fun is required. All action movies, except maybe historical war movies, are ridiculous in their nature.
I'll clarify what I meant through this: Batman Begins. That movie to me was a comic movie that had action and a good storyline, but didn't play off goofy one liners. Having said that, Deadpool was alright - after awhile it got tiring.
