I don't have an issue with people questioning the police and their actions, I think that shows a healthy society at work. But jumping to conclusions and making blanket statements is not helpful.

Unfortunately, there will always be police shootings as long as there are guns and people willing to use them for nefarious purposes. You can't seriously be comparing the US to the UK, Australia, Europe or even Canada when it comes to policing? It's an entirely different world down there, waaaay too many guns and way too many rights for gun owners.
Being armed in the U.S. is legal, that isn't an excuse for the cops to shoot anyone.

That's six people just in the past month that have been unarmed, subdued, or straight up running from police.

Well you said the above paragraph. Not trying to be picky but it seems to me you said they were unarmed.

It is if you give them reason to. Dealing with armed individuals also raises an officer's risk assessment. If pet Tigers were legal I'm sure you wouldn't be running up to pet one on the street.

We don't need to get into a punctuation lesson here, but "unarmed, subdued, or running" means "unarmed OR subdued OR running" not "unarmed plus subdued or running."

You'll notice each of the armed men were subdued (physically or in manner) or running. The list of six is made up of people who fit one of three categories.

Sterling most certainly was not subdued, which appears to have played a large part in him being shot.

No, but police in the U.S. have a far, far more dangerous job that police in Canada, the UK, or Australia. As I posted in the other thread, around 150 police a year are killed on duty in the U.S., about 50 of them shot dead. The number of police in the UK who die on duty from all causes is 3-4 a year.

Not an excuse but cops in most of the US are freaked out going to work these days, before one only had to worry about the "bad" areas but now danger is everywhere and they are even targeted.

No question this was about targeting cops though after reading recent social media stuff of his.

Clearly he was a bit unhinged but it was rather hard to see this level of violence coming from this guy.

The synopsis for him.

With potentially 500 million legal and illegal guns in America, you'd have an easier time banning cars than guns.

I don't think inflammatory rhetoric like "steady stream of murders of Americans by police" are helpful at all. All they do is sow more discontent and further polarize people.
The problem is that some were not justified (or at least appeared to be unjustified based on video evidence and witnesses) and the officers were still cleared of wrongdoing. That's the part that's making these nut jobs feel like the whole system is against them and that they're doing the right thing to take matters into their own hands.

Don lemon handled that sheriff pretty well. I understand that he is fed up but he conducted himself very poorly in that interview. Good for Lemon to hang in there and try to salvage the interview.
