Another tough year for Canada. Hard to see more than 2 Canadian teams getting in... and I think Winnipeg is, at best, a coin flip to get in. But you never know with Connor and Laine being added.

I think Calgary and maybe Winnipeg are the only teams with a hope of the playoffs.
1. Calgary (14)
2. Winnipeg (17)
3. Edmonton (20)
4. Montreal (21)
5. Ottawa (23)
6. Vancouver (29)
7. Toronto (30)

Surprised so many people have the Habs as the top Canadian team. They suck.

Calgary -solves Goal woes but new coach/system
Ottawa
Montreal -is crap, but Price is pretty good turd polish
Edmonton -should climb out of the cellar muck but we've heard that before.
Toronto
Vancouver -If the aging core keeps up might be better than this.

Edmonton (Better, still bad)
Ottawa (They just got nothing going on IMO)

1. Winnipeg
Good foundation and a very good prospect pool and young core. Should be a playoff team.
2. Calgary
Pretty close to Winnipeg IMO. Addressed the biggest need in the offseason and has a fantastic young core. Should contend for a playoff spot.
3. Ottawa
Always tough to rate the Senators. Nothing spectacular, they just always seem to be ... there.
4. Montreal
Price is awesome, but he can only carry them so far. Rest of the team is pretty "meh".
5. Vancouver
Aging core plus the addition of Eriksson could keep them out of the bottom, but they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Bottom 5 team.
6. Edmonton
Team is a bit more balanced now, but Oilers gonna oil.
7. Toronto
Probably 30th overall again.

1. Calgary. I think they are now the clear cut best Canadian team.
2. Winnipeg. They have a pretty strong roster and good young talent always coming in.
3. Edmonton: Shows how weak Canada is team wise.
4. Toronto: Garbage
5. Ottawa: Garbage
6. Montreal. Brutal forward depth, an aging Markov, and Weber. Price would have to have the greatest season ever to carry this garbage anywhere.
7. Vancouver: Worst team in the NHL.

I honestly have no idea what to expect out of the Canadian teams next year. They can't be much worse but not sure which teams will be better. If Price is healthy Canadiens have a shot at the playoffs. Calgary and Winnipeg will be much improved
13. Montreal (if Price is healthy)
16. Calgary
17. Winnipeg
19. Ottawa
21. *Montreal (if Price is injured most of season)
24. Edmonton
27. Vancouver
30. Toronto
But who knows. There is a decent chance there are no Canadian teams in the playoffs again.

Their roster sucks, but they might end up the highest in the standings. The Price effect.
I wouldn't be surprised if Price had a bit of an off year. Most goalies do once in awhile.

Probably because it's the summer and after hearing the post draft, pre season hype for the past month, even smart fans start to buy in... Shockingly.

Here's hoping. But McDavid is, sadly, really freaking good.

Probability comes into play. Edmonton at some point has to get better. No team can always end up near the bottom. I predict this is finally the year they improve. Probably not playoff contenders but being more balanced. A 2nd year McDavid is going to be a pleasure to watch from a skill and star factor.
