Jankowski should be another Colborne, actually I think his vision and skating is even better but whatever.

I look at it as the longer the wait before he's a real asset the more that can go wrong. That's one reason drafting a goalie is a bit of a long shot. It doesn't mean the player won't work out, it's just more of a gamble.

Czech Daniel Pribyl requires knee surgery after his playoff season ended. #Flames remain interested in signing. Will not play at Worlds.

#Flames GM Brad Treliving likens Pribyl to what he calls "a young Robert Lang" .. Adds if signed may require time at AHL Stockton

Waiting out his surgery results?

Of course. If you want to talk about Jankowski, it's in the Stockton Heat Loud and Obnoxious PBP guy's thread.

I really hope all this time to develop really pays off. He looks like he has the skill set to play in the NHL, I just hope he can deliver, either in Stockton or with the Flames this year and produce in the NHL at some point when there is more space for him on the roster in the NHL, say 2017 season.

It will be fun to watch this kid develop.

I wonder if the departure of Colborne increases the odds of Janko making the team out of camp because of the similarities in their games.

I don't think I've ever wanted to be wrong about a player so badly as Jankowski.

Needs to put on some muscle and additional mass through the frame but the kid has real skills and intelligence. I'm a believer. Expecting regular NHL presence in 2017/8.

I'm pretty excited that we're finally going to see Jankowski in Penticton and hopefully a couple of pre-season games(at least).

I really think the organization's "project" pick will pay off after all. And after all that patience and taking an abnormally long route for a 1st rounder, it would be pretty cool.

Not "best in the draft" good. That was over selling it. But I think he has 2nd line - 3rd line shutdown forward with offensive upside sort of potential in him with a higher floor/diminished chance of busting thanks to all the grooming in the NCAA.

Colborne is/was supposed to be a big body with good hands and, while not particularly physical, used size/reach to protect the puck.
I expect Jankowski could play wing?

Jankowski COULD play wing, but as far as I recall he hasn't played much wing since high school (or perhaps even before).

His entire Freshman year with the Friars was at left wing.

Sure he could play wing but I like him at C. He helped lead his team to a national championship at that position. I've been following this player closely since we drafted him and I think we've got a gem. I have a feeling our 4 centers in the future could be Bennett, Monahan, Backlund, Jankowski.

^agreed. Just musing based on Monahan, Bennett, Backlund, Stajan depth down the middle.
Maybe Stajan is a better option to play wing this year.
