If he's capable of it and he's not cooperating then I don't imagine it bothers him all that much.

Extensive criminal background, known to police, history of violence.

Sure glad this guy made it back out on the streets.

His phrasing of describing the rural search area was interesting, almost like they don't expect to find anything at that particular site. Maybe that's just my interpretation of it.

I really hope they can hold him longer. Would be a shame if they had to release him.

You know you're a scumbag when you won't even cooperate. I'm just hoping he has someone he trusted with the girl until he figured out what to do and that person does the right thing.

The officer also mentioned the suspect would be released tonight if charges aren't pressed against him.

They also called the search area huge and he corrected to reporter when she called it a crime scene. It's still only a large search area that stretches miles long.

Absolutely - and he's been in the system enough to know you don't ever say anything, so if they can't get him to talk, and can't find enough evidence to charge him, what will they do. They have to find something in the car, they just have to.

Forensic processing takes time too - assuming there's something of value in the car, it's probably an incredibly stressful race against the clock for CPS right now.

Damn it, you'd think that driving the suspected sedan and refusing to cooperate should be grounds for probable cause. Especially for something like an Amber Alert.

True enough. I am grateful they're not announcing the discovery of a body at the very least. Still hoping for the best

The officer said the suspect was arrested and his car seized in the strip mall on the NE corner of 32nd avenue and 32nd street NE (unless I misheard). Looks like there is a car wash there. Good chance it's a coincidence but it's there.

They also have witnesses who saw the little girl get in that same vehicle with a description matching the suspect.

My bad, missed that. Well that's their probable cause to arrest him and bring him in, but still not concrete enough for anything... what could they even charge him with at this point aside from being a waste of flesh?

I'm thinking they need tangible evidence that the girl was in the car.

Believe he said there was a Tim Hortons in that strip mall. Don't believe a car wash is there.
