Having built ourselves, two things pop to mind that I wish we had done:
1) More outlets, imagine what you will need and 1.5-2x those
2) More outdoor light fixtures for back yard
One of my best decisions was to insulate all sleeping quarters and our downstairs tv area with the safe-and-sound Roxul insulation. Doesn't completely kill noise, but you can barely hear the other rooms when doors are closed.

Depending on the size of the house, zoned HVAC. Our new build has the main and upstairs on 2 different zones. No heating or cooling the area you don't need to.

Location, location, location.
I see that you already own the property so hopefully you considered that when you acquired it. A dream house in the wrong location can be a nightmare.

Sauna, huge kitchen, really lush backyard with lots of trees and shrubs and zero grass, master bedroom with a balcony, en suite with a window, awesome stone wine cellar.

- well placed windows, skylights, and a cathedral ceiling to create a sense of openness. Mirrors also add to this.
- a warm, cozy fireplace faced with natural stone, and adjoining wood box.
- a computer room and place to pay bills.
- hardwood and tile flooring, or top quality rug.
- use whatever to soundproof the house.
- laundry chute.
- central vacuum system.
- lots of wood...oak preferred, and keep as natural colour as possible.
- you should make sure that exterior of house has as much curb appeal as possible.
