Saunders better hope he keep hitting because he is one of the, if not the, worst fielding outfielder in baseball.

Now EE is starting to hit with risp, tulo is coming around, Martin is heating up, Donaldson is returning to MVP form, Saunders is swinging well, travis is starting to look like he did pre injury. Once Bautista is back this is easily the most deadly lineup in baseball.
At least pillar and smoak can play d.

I bet these hitters have better ways of improving their game then 'hope'.

Saunders stats are taking a nose dive lately and he's inching closer to his normal production. You can't keep him in the lineup unless he's hitting once Bautista comes back. Carrera is a better fielder, hitting well, and is a good lead off option.

I think it will be a while before Carrera starts over Saunders. We really need a lefty in the middle of the lineup. Gibby will have a long leash for him.

A hit and run with Thole at bat is bad baseball.

Now time for the Dodgers to hand the 6th L in a row to the Orioles.

Smoak is a switch hitter and Carerra also bats left. In a 2-1 playoff game, do you want Saunders in the outfield if he's back to hitting .250? I don't. Hopefully he keeps up his hitting, if he doesn't though, he needs to be a bench player.

A guy who could go to the all star game needs to be a bench player? Ok.

If AlpineOracle hadn't become the boy who cried wolf, this is actually one argument that wouldn't be unreasonable. A guy who can't field and can't hit would be a bench player. Unfortunately for the boy who cried wolf, Saunders is hitting a ton, so much so that he is marginally all-star calibre.

While I wouldn't go as far to say as Donaldson struggled at the beginning of the season, he definitely had a slump right after his "we need to have better at bats" interview. He was alright but definitely not MVP caliber.
Now suddenly he's on fire again.
.304 batting average(12th in AL)
.415 OBP (4th in AL)
1.017 OPS (2nd in AL)
77 runs scored (1st in the MLB)
60 RBI (4th in AL)
22 HR (4th in AL)
It's incredibly hard to repeat as MVP in the MLB but if his quality of play continues at it's current level he's gonna be right there in the conversation at the end of the season.
Only 3 for 4 with 4 runs scored 2 RBI and 2 HR in 4 plate appearances tonight.
