Apparently my 7 year old daughter is part ogre, because her skates don't fit again this year - unreal.

Any suggestions where I can find used skates? I've not had to shop around in the past since her skates have been hand-me-down's, but her feet have outgrown her older sisters somehow, so the natural order of things is now all messed up.

I assume u are in Calgary.

There is used place in Shawnessy, and one at Edmonton Trail and 20 (I think).

Also, I seem to recall Hockey Experts had some used ones. I also seem to recall they have a program for skates, if u buy there and come back to replace they have a "buy back" program or discount.

I couldn't remember for the life of me if it was on Edmonton Tr or Centre street.

there's a play it again sports store in signal hill, picked up a pair for my kid a few months back, usually big selection.

Thread delivered. Hit up the West Hills location, came out with essentially $6 skates after trade-ins.

Sports Trader in NW Calgary has a decent selection. I went there on the weekend, and used skates were going for about $25 for kids sizes.

Does anyone know of a decent place to get kids skates in the NW? Sports Traders seems to be out of business now.

Have you tried any of the following:

Hockey Experts
Sport Chek
(they both run a trade in program if you buy new skates there you can trade them in on another new pair)
Tuxedo source for Sports (I know they are not really in the NW) - you might want to call there first to ask if they sell used

Not exactly in the NW but relatively close. There's a Play it Again sports place in West Hills.
