I might get Doom but not much else.
I just got Hearts Of Iron IV, CIV VI and Stellaris on GMG for cheaper than Steam has them. I was emailed a coupon code (JUNE23) if anyone else is interested.

I like your taste in games.
This year's sale was not as "exciting" as previous years.

The turn-based combat is a very unique kind of gameplay. Most other games have a certain aesthetic that is pleasing for viewers to watch but turn based gameplay is a unique thing that is unlike any other genre. Even puzzle games are mildly amusing to watch but turn based games are only fun to play.

I haven't bought anything so far. I'm contemplating getting Dying Light: The Following before the sale ends tomorrow morning but I might wait until the fall. I'll probably get Wasteland for $1.29 just because.

Yogscast playing Civ V, and Quill18 playing Hearts of Iron would prove otherwise. Maybe if you're not a fan of playing turned based games you wouldn't want to watch them, but there are compelling "let's players" of the genre out there.
But, as usual, I'm not sure what made you even make that comment.

I don't disagree
I meant in general
My friends generally complain they are boring to watch, but I like them. I develop games for fun and the group I collaborate with usually avoid the turn based games.

If you get the expansions, which are great, you can easily put 150+ hours in the game.

That's awesome to hear. I did get the expansions.
Sick of getting a game and being sick of it after less than 10 hours. Or like in the case of Ryse, completing the game completely in 5 hours, even though I wasn't sick of it there wasn't any left.

Only game I regret not getting during the sale is Paint it Back. Recommended for the Picross fans out there, though!

Such a great game if only for the sailing and the pirate shanties. Well worth the money.

I ended up not buying Doom. Maybe next sale.
It took some work but I found some decent cheap games.
GemCraft - Chasing Shadows
Downwell
Tomb of Tyrants
UnderRail
Luftrausers
Metal Slug X
The Talos Principle
Party Hard
Train Valley
and a bunch more. Spend just under $100 for 20 games.

Out of the Park 17 is an excellent baseball sim.
Got it for 20 bucks and it's a nice change from my eastside hockey manager.

I attempted playing it last night. It's crazy complicated, and I'm pretty sure my nephew annexed one of my cities. Or it was a foreign Bishop who annexed a city my nephew runs. Either way, tons of menus to learn.
Very overwhelming as a noob, but I can tell it's shaping up to be fun. Hopefully I get the hang of it before I rage quit.

Surprisingly I didn't buy anything this time. I found the sale was fairly mediocre and while I was tempted to pick up a couple of indie games I decided I should probably finish the ones I have.

It's a very complicated game, particularly since most of us have been acclimatized to the Total War genre where the geomap is just a facade for the battles. In CK2, conquest is a small part of the gameplay.
For instance, last night, playing as the Petty King of Wessec (think SW of England), I managed to fabricate a claim against a Welsh duchy, solidify a claim against one of my own vassals by murdering his heir, and marrying into the royal family of France, which ensured an alliance that forced out my major competitors in England.
This game is about managing relationships - not only within your court and family but also within the larger web of counties, earldoms, duchies, and kingdoms.
I recommend starting off as a smaller kingdom, maybe in Ireland or England, and staying away from the insanity of the continent for awhile.
It took me one restart before I managed to handle the basics. The cool thing is that the game shifts upon each succession as every dynasty head has different traits, and relationships.
You have to think as far ahead in advance as possible, and get through plotting rivals, and random events, but when a plan comes together, oh man is it the most satisfying thing ever.

I was the ruler of Leon and I married a princess from Norway. That was the only thing I was able to figure out what to do.
I think I accidentally claimed some land, and lo and behold, my one city got sacked.
I'm gonna restart and maybe read some of the tutorial messages.
