If this thread was "Least favourite spots in Calgary" Chinook would be right up there for me, agree with the Dome though.. Also, what is new Prince's Island Park?

Oh, c'mon -- Chinook is nice when it isn't busy.
Prince's Island Park is over by East Village near the Zoo. You cross a nice new bridge over the Bow and you arrive in an opened-last-year park full of manmade pools to skip rocks, grassy knolls, playgrounds, etc. It's really quite nice on a summer evening.

I like Nose Hill Park. It helps to define Calgary as a prairie city, and it's large enough to spend a whole day there. The dogs love it, as they get exercise and socialization.
Speaking of pets, Pisces Pet Emporium. As someone who has to go to pet stores every week, it's nice having such a large pet store in town. I'm sure many of you would agree that it's a unique pet store.

Pisces is pretty awesome. My parents used to take me to Pisces as a kid when it was in that little strip mall at Edmonton Trail/McKnight. That place was awesome for fish. The new store is amazing.

I like being in Bowness Park and going under the Stoney Trail bridge on the far end. It's an interesting juxtaposition between the peaceful nature below and the hundreds of cars thundering over the huge man made bridge far above. If you continue down the path, there's some cool old benches that are dedicated to some people -- peaceful places to sit and watch the river.

The view of the Glenmore reservoir from the path by the Rockyview hospital is a new little gem I just recently discovered. The old red grain elevator from Heritage Park sticking out of the trees gives it a really cool vibe, plus the mountains in the background. Looks really cool.

Funny, but we took the kids for their first bicycle ride around the reservoir on the weekend, and when we stopped at this spot (which is one of my favourites in the city), I thought to myself that I should have added it to this list on CP. If I had a visitor to the city who like to take photographs, that is where I'd take them. It's gorgeous.
