This list has Dale Tallon on it - he's not even his team's GM.

Yzerman right now has to be the guy.
Weird list though.

interesting for sure. Can't argue against Bowman, Yzerman and Nill, they have been excellent over the past few years.
I'm not sure I'd put Holland that high - he certainly has his moments, but he's made quite a few "meh" moves over the last few years and just yesterday he had an absolute stinker of a day. Longevity speaks for him, but right now, I think there are a lot better GMs out there.
Personally, I think excluding Poile from the top 5 of a "best GMs list" makes little sense ... he's always had to work with an internal budget in Nashville and has been killing it in the last couple of years. Lots of really good deals and signings to build a great team.

Great to see BT on the list with the least experience and he will only move up.

Lamoriello shouldn't be in the top ten anymore.
He had success in the past, but he left Jersey with an aged, terrible roster and an empty prospect pool. Plus, there hasn't really been enough time to see if he's going to be successful in TO yet.
Can't really argue too much with any of the others I guess. Bob Murray does a great job in Anaheim IMO. He trades well, and drafts and develops like nobodies business, especially defensemen. An internal budget team that is almost always a contender which is impressive.
Also, Doug Wilson has to be up there too. 13 years as GM in San Jose and they have always had a strong team under his watch. Only missed the playoffs once and have been a contender most of the time.

I can't see how the Leafs make the list. They haven't really done anything noteworthy and picking Matthews happened because they were absolutely terrible. Also Matthews was a no brainier. Every GM would have chosen him first, so you can't count that pick. In a few years when we can see how their rebuild goes, then you can consider putting him on the list. Not now.

When they redo this list in a couple of years I expect Treliving might make the Top 3!

Not a chance Bowman is #1. He inherited the core and since then has lucked out with the core playing so well. He's given away lots of good talent due to some ridiculous deals.
Kenny Holland hasn't done anything for a long time.
Imo the top 10 are (in no order):
David Poille (Nas)
Brian Maclellan (Was)
Steve Yzerman (TB)
Jim Nill (Dal)
Garth Snow (NYI)
Brad Treiliving (Cal)
Ron Francis (Car)
Doug Wilson (SJ)
Dean Lombardi (LA)
Jim Rutherford (Pit)

The man can draft but his choice of coaches and team building is suspect.

This makes me laugh.
Wilson and Rutherford were total goats at points this season. Amazing what playoff success will do for your perceived reputation.

Wilson has basically built that team and its a good one. All their under achievement are not on him. He had the guts to give up a 1st for Jones and not trade any of his other core pieces.
Rutherford built the Canes that won the cup 10 years ago. He made the necessary changes on the Pens to have them win. The same Pens, whose championship window was thought to be closed.
Amazing how few years of no success will do for one's reputation.

Poille seems to have gotten better and better over the years. It would be cool if he eventually got his cup with Nashville.
Nashville has a surprisingly good fanbase for a non-traditional market, and Poille deserves a lot of credit.

Florida killed it this off season. They had the best signings and trades.
