Ya that's right. I forgot there's a lot of fluff coming off the books. Thank Christ!

I don't see any more Flames UFA signings coming.
Just AHL type signings like Derek Grant last year. Would still like to see Nakladal signed though, but won't fret too much if signs elsewhere.
Big bodied veteran RW and a back up goalie were our big needs and they've been addressed.

Wideman probably won't be in play until Demers signs somewhere.

Do they have to be under first, and then get LTIR?

Yep. Overage penalties.
I'll be curious to hear if Treliving has anything of substance to say about Colborne.

Chiasson - 6'3 215lb physical right shot RW
Brouwer - 6'3 215lb physical right shot RW
Elliot .930 save %
Johnson .920 save%
BT pretty much plugging the biggest holes on the ship.

Here's how I have it currently with estimated RFA signings, and before any potential trades.
1. Gaudreau (6,750,000) - Monahan (6,250,000) - Brouwer (4,500,000)
2. M Stajan (3,125,000) - Backlund (3,575,000) - M Frolik (4,300,000)
3. Shinkaruk (863,333) - S. Bennett (925,000) - Chiasson (800,000)
4. M. Ferland (825,000) - L. Bouma (2,200,000) - Hathaway (690,000)
Extra - Bollig (1,250,000) - F Hamilton (725,000)
Buy out - Raymond (1,050,000)
1. Giordano (6,750,000) - D Hamilton (5,750,000)
2. TJ Brodie (4,650,400) - Wideman (5,250,000)
3. Jokipakka (900,000) - Engelland (2,916,667)
Extra - Smid (3,500,000) - Wotherpoon (875,000)
1. B. Elliot (2,500,000)
2. Johnson (1,700,000)
Total Cap - $71,570,400 ($1,429,600 cap space)

Clearing Wideman's big salary would be of help.

^^ I doubt you get Monahan at 6.25 when Brouwer just got 4.5. I think he's closer to 7, and Gaudreau closer to 8.

If Russell signs for the rumoured $5M+, you have to think that makes Wideman look more affordable to other teams.

They are not comparable in any way shape or form.
You don't compare 10 year veteran UFA's to 2-3 year RFA's when it comes to contract negotiations.
They might get a little more, but it won't be because of what Brouwer just got.
Monahan's best recent comparable is Barkov ($5.9 AAV)
Gaudreau's best recent comparable is Tarasenko ($7.5 AAV)

Fully agree, gotta start somewhere right, doesn't make sense to build (Sail) on a sinking ship afterall. Maybe or maybe not optimal choices for wingers but I think it makes us much tougher to play against and that has been one of our biggest knocks.
Can Brouwer and Chiasson skate? I like the decent speed with size model over massive/slow or tiny/speedy way a team is built and I think both Chiasson and Brouwer add in a positive direction for us.

You're comparing RFAs to an UFA. They aren't comparable. Gaudreau/Monahan are comparable to other young RFAs like Barkov, Tarasenko and Forsberg

Gaudreau's comparables make his deal pretty easy, if it's 8 years (which it should be) - 8 years, 7.5M.
Monahan, look at Barkov, add 2 UFA years, and I'd say 8 years at 6.75M is solid.
