I see Jankowski making the team and Stajan being a backup or helping guys development in Stockton.

Gaudreau-Monahan-Frolik
Shinkaruk-Backlund-Chiasson
Tkachuk-Bennett-Brouwer
Ferland/Bouma-Jankowski-Hathaway

Extra Stajan
Sorry if I am asking too much here but could someone, makes the lines for the Oilers and see how we compare against them because they are pissing me off and I am scared they maybe better than is.

I like that they're bringing in another strong leadership guy. I think this team needs this after last season.

I also like his motor, he played hard and tough every time I watched him play.

Sweet signing. Don't give a flying f what he's getting paid or for how long.

The last 2 signings signify a shift towards a more entertaining style. How many -22 degree Tuesday nights in February games have you sat in the dome wishing for players who would actually put a shoulder into the opponent? It's a problem when you crave a Denis Gauthier on the roster. So stoked for the season. F summer, bring on September.

Questioning somebody's fandom because they don't like a signing is completely uncalled for.

Ferland and Brouwer have some talent.

Tkachuk has the smarts to play his off wing and his skill set is by far best suited for Gaudreau and Monahan with his elite hockey sense and high skill. But Monahan and Gaudreau can use any powerforward so Brouwer, Chiasson and Ferland are all possibilities as well.

If you like spreading out the scoring then I'd suggest

Gaudreau-Monahan-Brouwer
Tkachuk-Bennett-Chiasson
Ferland-Backlund-Frolik
Bouma-Stajan-Hathaway

Could be an interesting option.

The Oilers aren't tougher than us. Brouwer, Engelland, Ferland, Bouma, Bollig, and Chiasson.

If some how we could get rid some of bottom 6, then I'd like him on this team.

Brouwer career:

avg G: 0.245
avg Pts: 0.479
avg Hits: 2.53
avg Pim: 07.46

Lucic career:
avg G: 0.246
avg Pts: 0.614
avg Hits: 2.82
avg PIM: 1.32

Averages are per game. Basically we get a player who averages as many goals and close to as many hits as Lucic but is way less of a liability PIM wise. I am not arguing Brouwer > Lucic as points are in Lucic favor but for 1.5 million less and 4 years vs 7 I am very happy with the Brouwer signing.

I don't like this but, whatever. Term is way too long. AAV is decent though.

Sorry if this has been mentioned yet, haven't had time to go through everything. But who did Brouwer play with this past year in STL? Was he playing a second or third line guy?

Iīm not crazy about the term of dollars, itīs another Frolik contract basically. I like Brouwer as 2nd/3rd liner but to me this screams that guys like Poirier, Klimchuk and perhaps even Shinkaruk arenīt ready and they arenīt really hopeful on them being ready soon. And to committ to 4 years, I just donīt know about this one....

Of about 700 regulars NHLers from last year, over 200 were 30 years or older. Nearly 30%.

About 65 of the 700 were 34 and older. About 10%.

He is still motivated and still useful. We'll use him for his remainder good years and then he can move on.

Not a deal that takes him to 34+ years. So OK term.

I predicted 3.5, he got 4.5...The difference between that is sending Bollig to the minors (think about that) for cap hit purposes next year.

On to the good...
-Physical presence
-Will battle in the corners
-Create space for younger guys
-Provide leadership

It's a fair deal. Let's play some hockey now.

17.97% he played with Fabbri and Stastny
12.12% Backes and Steen
10.44% Stastny and Steen
