Considering other deals what did you think he was going to get? Good deal in my opinion. How many people that hate this deal wanted Hartnell?

In the modern NHL, he is.

3 scoring lines.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Brouwer
Tkachuk - Bennett - ?
Shinkaruk - Backlund - Frolik

Why couldn't we just get Perron instead?

This is hilarious and so hypocritical. Everyone defends the Frolik contract but rips this one apart? They're both 40-ish point players that bring different other elements.

Would rather have Colborne 3x3 or Perron for what he signed for.

Bottom 6 gets even more expensive. Horrible deal. Hope I'm proven wrong.

I honestly think this is the worst contract so far today.

He isn't a first line player, but he's a fantastic physical compliment to those guys. He's easily averaged over 20 goals during his NHL career. This isn't Brandon Bollig people.

This coming from the same guy who predicted that we would be picking 9th in the draft.

I must say, any comparison to Glencross is panicky ignorance.

We'll end up liking this player, and then thank the stars there isn't a 5th year on the deal

Hopefully Chiasson has a resurgence and takes the place of your question mark.

Frolik was 26 when he signed his deal.

People looking on the bright side of this are kidding themselves. By including brouwer in the hudler deal and playing it off as we just swapped hudler for brouwer and got picks...or saying well at least its not 7 years...at least its not 6 million. No crap - he isnt Okposo, Ladd, Lucic, Backes, Eriksson. He's a 40pt middle 6 guy.

It is a bad contract.

Welcome to the Flames Troy. I have a feeling we have a new whipping boy.

####!

Not if he actually uses his body and gets 40 points. Also if posters think Bennet is going to have a break out year, then wouldn't Brouwer get some of that gravy?

A lot of young guys on the Flames.
Got a player who can play with good players and as importantly, provide leadership.
Good term ,good salary and no acquisition cost.
Good signing.
