It isn't a terrible deal, some people are being a little too dramatic. About a year more than ideal and about 500K more a year than he is worth. Given it is free agency the deal is fine.

It's like the Oilers trade, it was something we needed to do. Lets face the facts, UFAs are over priced and this comes in at not too bad in my opinion.

You have to pay a premium today, but Brouwer does fill a need on this team. Would like a year less and/or about 750K less, but at least the crazy term/cap to other players has been avoided
