That's no turboprop ... those are straight-up radial piston engines!

That B-17 is supposed to fly by the base and town on it's way to Regina today. Should be cool

So gutted that I couldn't swing the $475.00 to take a flight on it .

Aviation and WW2 are huge obsessions of mine. At least I got to see it.

Such a beautiful airplane, really wish I could have gone for a ride.
Here are some pics I took (phone camera, not the best quality)

Looks like the Brits are in town. Saw two Tornados take off from 17L yesterday and one more today. Also some C-17s were sitting by the Shell Avitat building when I drove home from work last night.

I'm almost 100% sure those weren't Tornado's. I think what you saw were RCAF Hawk trainers.

Yes you are right, that looks much closer to what I saw. Tough to tell what it was when they are moving and ascending as quick as they do.

My uncle texted me and said he saw a Tornado today as well. Maybe he was mistaken, but Hawks and Tornados don't look alike to me.

Edit: I quizzed him, he said it was dark blue, so I bet you're right, Bigtime.

Not a single mention of Tornados around on the YYC Spotters Facebook Page, believe me those guys would be all over it if it was Tornados. Pics from yesterday showed Hawks and the two RAF C-17's.

First Hainan Airlines flight from Beijing arrives tomorrow.

Saw something big landing in the distance around 5PM today. Anyone catch what it was. I'm not sure if it's possible to go that far back on flight aware.

Obama and Nieto are in Ottawa to meet with the PM. I didn't know the Mexican President flew in a Dreamliner. I hope Justin doesn't get any ideas.

That was one of our Cold Lake Hawks probably on an out and back. Our Moose Jaw fleet is hangared today with hail damage from yesterdays storm!

Usually these kind of movies are just cringefests of inaccuracies... but I see nothing wrong in this trailer. Looks like they might be doing it right.

True, there's so much source material and it happened pretty recently, so they would get murdered if they had inaccuracies.
