I'd say it's a bad trade for Edmonton, but let's be honest... there's no way they could get any worse, so it's not like this will make a dent in the standings for them. By that logic, it's a fair trade at best.
Trainwreck's gonna trainwreck.

Does this mean that Lucic is more than likely going to sign with the Oil?

I like this trade for Edmonton :/
Punt part of their rotten core and get a great young defenseman...

Probably, but it would be nice if Lucic now realizes he's the top target with Stamkos off the market.
Ask for $8M Lucic!

This wasn't a hockey trade as much as it was a cultural reboot, a kick in the nuts to the golden boys, and Chia for better or for worse putting his stamp on this team.
But to me it looks like his two major trades Reinhart and now Larsson haven't been good deals.

Didn't say it changed what you said.
Just think that he's better than most people realize.

It's a really weird trade.
From an asset for asset perspective, it is one of the most lopsided trades in a very long time.
Yet, the Oilers are so mind-numbingly ####ed up, it still actually helps them!

Seems like its more of Charelli showing the team what bad really is.

Larsson is a solid piece.
Removing Hall is addition by subtraction to a degree.
However you don't move your biggest trade chip for a 'decent' piece. Oilers have a better core with the likes of Draisatl (Sp?), McDavid and Puljujarvi but this sets them back a couple more years because of the horrendous return.

You certainly don't try to kick your team in the pants while you're getting bent over a barrel out back behind the woodshed.

No idea where to put this idea so I'll drop it right here. With the way things have gone today I wouldn't be the least bit shocked now to see Lucic sign in Boston. Sorry Edmonton.
