Now imagine if Lucic signs here or in Vancouver.

RNH for Brodin/Dumba would have been a better deal than Hall for Larsson.
I like Larsson as a player but i'm not sure he has shown enough offensively to look like a true number 1. He has been surpassed by other d-men in New Jersey already too.

Would be hilarious if the Oilers made this deal based on Lucic committing to sign there, and pulls a Michael Nylander

I get that Hall getting traded was inevitable but they seriously pulled the trigger on this deal?

That's because Monahan is a better hockey player than Hall, and we have D, so don't have to overpay.

So, I don't really watch eastern teams much. But how much better is Larsson vs. say Gudbransson? If they're similar, it means Hall was worth about as much as Jared McCann ha ha.

By effectively becoming a third line player who focused only on offense. That's actually exactly the role that Taylor Hall needs to succeed. But as an all around hockey player he's nowhere near as good as Oiler fans think. And this deal shows that because there likely were other deals out there, this was simply the best anyone was offering for him. Apparently racking up points on the worst run of years any franchise in NHL history has had didn't make him worth elite players, shockingly.

Edmonton is No Good 4: The Hall of Lowe.
It's even better since Hall and Lowe both wore #4.

The trade is definite lol worthy. The tweets sum it up.
But it still annoys me to no end how Mcdavid and Puljujarvi basically falling into their lap allows them to finally purge the crap out of that dumpster fire. Its BS.

Are the Edmonton Oilers management staff the smartest guys in the room?
Historical evidence would suggest no.

the oilers just traded taylor hall for a handful of beans. And not even magic beans. Like they reached into a dented can of baked beans.

Quick! Someone try to trade Larsson for Hall on NHL16. I'm curious to know if this would even work in a fantasy world.

I wonder if moving Hall was part of the negotiated discussions with Lucic

I don't understand why the oilers fans are so upset.... You'd think they'd be used to losing by now.

The more you digest this trade the worse it gets.
All this Edmonton is no good stuff was fun at first. Now it's actually starting to feel wrong. A team this bad should just be left alone.

The entire internet is saying the Oilers got killed. And rightfully so.
Hall is as one dimensional as one dimensional players get, and Larsson is a decent middle pair guy. But Christ. Edmonton needs to get more. At the very least, a second rounder or something.

And this was their biggest trading chip... I wonder what they'll get for Eberle.
