Next year when Benn needs a bump, they have Sharp, Hemsky and Oduya coming off the books.

Plus when Seguin needs a bump in a few years they'll have a 37 year old Spezza's $7.5 million coming off the books at the same time.

I don't see Dallas needing another centre, but I guess they could always stick him on the wing.

I think it is reasonable to ask a few things of both this poster and the group
- The poster should continue to strive for quality over quantity
- The poster shouldn't react to everything, including when people take a shot. Rise above it. The reaction feeds more of it.
- But in equal measures, can the community just leave the guy alone for a bit and give him a chance?
- And collectively let's not jump all over each other so much. Don't like a thread? Don't reply in it. Posting that a thread sucks only keeps it on page 1. The cool thing about a forum, when it is operating properly, is that it basically functions as a democracy. The good stuff rises to the top, and the crud quickly vanishes to page 2 and beyond. When people post to complain about a thread, that behavior is actually thing that undermines the quality of the board more than a crappy thread getting on page 1 for a very brief amount of time.

Ultimately we are all fans here, and the hate spewed around sometimes is stunning. I know I've over-reacted at times, and try to really not anymore, but we are all going to trip up.

But the way this guy is getting dog piled regularly doesn't reflect well on who we are.

Just to note, I meant the comment as a (perhaps poorly placed) joke, but without ill intentions. Apologies if anyone was offended and certainly didn't want to contribute to any sort of pack mentality against any poster.

I think one of Stamkos' major gripes with Tampa is being stuck out on the wing, he wants to play centre.

Yeah, that was my thought, too. Toronto has no depth anywhere, really, so he'd be a good fit, especially to mentor Matthews. Doubt he comes to the west.

That would severely describe on his motivation.

Toronto is great if hes going full Mercenary. He can play anywhere as much as he wants but hes never going to win a thing.
