So Sutter has been let go as well. How much money does this actually save Sportsnet? You buy a $5.2 billion dollar contract and then instead of trying to put a little more money to make your product better, like a drop in the bucket, you start pinching pennies?
I don't understand what SN is doing.

I think Rogers is finally realizing that they are in over their heads with the NHL contract. I actually hope that they consider selling their regional Flames contract to TSN.

Perhaps not being able to spell "gardener" means a career in journalism isn't for you.

Ha ha - he lives in Toronto and drives on the Gardiner Expressway....prolly thinks it's the same thing.
But I did frequently enjoy his comments.

Maybe he's planning on selling adult diapers on the side of the Expressway.

A lot more. Google it. Those were the major ones but there were a lot of the other filler guys you'll recognize.

In this case, ‘laying off’ is accountant-speak for ‘can't afford to pay’.

Not really. Terminated w/ or w/o cause would be HR speak. "Fired" people are normally replaced 1:1. Not the case with layoffs.

I'm not so sure they are in over their heads. I think this is more a case of listening to fans, trimming the fat and chopping away dead weight *cough* Healy *cough*. It looks like they are getting rid of people that have no business reporting on hockey. Although a couple people surprised me, like Leah Hextal. She wasn't great, but relative to her other panelists, she was incredible..... But the bar was set very low with Cox and Healy.

So all of these people fired yet they never thought to ditch the girl who does nothing but read tweets? Seems like an obvious cost cutting move.

I thought we take spelling and grammar very seriously in this joint.
