Finnish TV showed the Icelandic goals with the Icelandish announcer. LOL, the guy sounds like he nearly passed out from his screaming

Resigning is about the only move Hodgson got right this tournament.

at least he has the balls to quit himself.

Absolutely incredible. He's a bumbling idiot.
And the fools that hired him will get to hire another yes man. In my lifetime El Tel is probably the only decent manager they have ever had.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Neville or Southgate get it.

I am more interested to see if Iceland can do a 2004 Greece and go on win the whole thing. But there are still France, Italy/Germany, and probably Belgium to face down the road...

I'm loving this Iceland story, but that guy is annoying. You can be over the top excited without screaming like a woman being murdered.

I'd be good with either over Roy, especially Nevs.

Iceland definitely defend well enough to have a chance against those teams. Problem is those teams aren't England and won't self destruct once the slightest bit of pressure mounts. Beating France would be a much bigger upset than beating England.

Winner of Germany/Italy would be the toughest one IMO, strong enough managers to gameplan for Iceland, but the size and strength of Iceland up front will still cause them problems.
France & Belgium I think could happen.

Quiet you! That announcer is awesome, so much passion, so much homerism, he's incredibly entertaining. All you guys hear is the huge moments where he screams, during the game he really keeps you pumped.

yeah my money is on Neville too. I'm fine with it too ... everything is better than Hodgson. I'd probably even take Allardyce over him.

The game has been over for what, 15 minutes? And he had a prepared, typed and printed resignation speech?
Um yeah.

pretty much tells you everything you need to know about that clown. To have a coach who, probably ahead of the tournament, prepares a farewell speech to have it handy when he needs it ... it's unbelievable really. What the hell.

To be fair to Hodgson, while his selections were often puzzling or straight up wrong, the players effort tonight was absolutely shambolic. He could have had the greatest gameplan of all-time with perfect selections and they weren't winning with that effort. Many Iceland players are part time players and they showed 10 times the heart of the millionaire England players.

To sort of sum up the England effort tonight, Rashford had more successful dribbles (3) in 5 minutes than any other England player had the entire game. What an absolute #### effort.
